We are seeking a dedicated and professional Pharmacist to join our team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions, compounding medications, directing other pharmacy employees, and dispensing medications. Additionally, the Pharmacist will provide counseling to nursing facility staff on medication use and general health topics. Responsibilities * Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed. * Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. * Direct other pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and changes to prescription orders. * Ensure the accuracy of prescription order intake and the efficient fulfillment of orders. * Dispense medications and provide support/counseling to nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications. * Advise physicians about medication therapy and counsel nursing facility staff on general health topics such as diet, exercise, and stress management. * Provide information on products such as durable medical equipment or home healthcare supplies. Additionally, the Pharmacist will work 2 out of 7 weekends: one weekend from 10:00 am - 6:30 pm and another from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm. Training will rotate through the different shifts during the initial 4 weeks. Once converted to a permanent employee, there is a 90-day waiting period before being eligible for paid time off (PTO), although unpaid time off can still be taken during this period.
