Role Overview:
The Pharmacy Specialist is the designated hospital-wide expert in the area of clinical pharmacy and directly provides leadership for the continued growth of comprehensive clinical pharmacy services. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist plays an integral role as the therapeutic resource for drug information and pharmacotherapy of their service's patients. The position is also responsible for the division's educational and quality improvement programs.

The Pharmacy Department utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model.
We are looking for a confident, independent individual to join our Multiple Myeloma Pharmacy Specialist team. In this role, you will serve as a fully integrated member of the inpatient multiple myeloma service and ambulatory clinic at our main campus to provide advanced clinical pharmacy services, including:
Drug therapy design and monitoring, patient medication counseling, and participation in Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM)
Committee participation and development of treatment guidelines and pharmacy policies
Preceptor-ship of PGY2 Pharmacy residents and pharmacy students
Education of hospital staff through Grand Rounds presentations and in-service training
Key Qualifications:
Doctorate in Pharmacy, Oncology experience preferred
NYS license (or eligibility)
Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency and an ASHP-accredited oncology residency, or equivalent experience are required.

This position is in support of a proposed repatriation initiative. The purpose of the facilities is to provide comprehensive care for migrant individuals who are awaiting reunification or repatriation. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and providing healthcare counseling. 4. Supervise the work completed by Pharmacy Technicians and support staff while on duty. 5. Assist Pharmacy Manager to train, coach, and manage Pharmacy associates. 6. Assume management responsibility over the entire pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager. 7. Maintain appropriate security of the Pharmacy department. 8. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations. 9. Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty. 10. Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gain information on customers and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise. 11. Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order. 12. Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Including, but not limited, to cycle counts, inventory management and will-calls to customers.
Qualifications
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position includes the supervision of Pharmacy Technicians and Cashiers and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required: Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy, and Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA).
