The Pharmacist is responsible for consulting with qualified patients and caregivers and administering approved medical marijuana products. The Pharmacist oversees all activities related to the operation of the Dispensing Facility to include patient identification and registration, record retention, product tracking and inventory control. This position requires that the incumbent maintains an active State pharmacist license and has completed the course(s) pursuant to the Statute. Major Areas of Responsibility include: Ensuring compliance with all State Medical Marijuana Program rules and regulations governing the Act, and directly supervising the activity within the dispensary to include dispensary staff training and education. Providing management and leadership in the Dispensing Facility to include monitoring all point of sale transactions. Managing patient specific logs as required, receiving, storage and auditing of all inventory, and is responsible for ordering new inventory and supplies, maintaining accurate records using ADILAS, the Dispensing Facility's inventory tracking software program. As the responsible party at the Dispensing Facility, this position resolves all inventory discrepancies as well as any patient-staff conflicts. Engages in post-graduate pharmacy activities under direct supervision of licensed pharmacist to fulfill the State Board of Pharmacy requirements. Provides pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding the effective usage of medications, awareness with drug interactions and offering preventive healthcare services such as immunizations. Antibiotic Stewardship Pharmacist. Pharmacy PGY2 residency infectious disease specialty desired as essential role in the Antibiotic Stewardship program at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. To work with Infectious Disease department in patient care. This position entails daily clinical activities of all Pharmacy Department including profile and non-profile patient care areas, as well as implementing and monitoring various "Medication use evaluations." Major components of the position also include pharmacokinetic monitoring, medication error prevention, intravenous to oral medication switch and cost savings analysis of these programs. Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations. 2. Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs including appropriate immunization and when available MTM (Medication Therapy Management), DCS (Diabetes Care Specialist), and all ongoing other programs as identified. 3. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and providing healthcare counseling. 4. Supervise the work completed by Pharmacy Technicians and support staff while on duty. 5. Assist Pharmacy Manager to train, coach, and manage Pharmacy associates. 6. Assume management responsibility over the entire pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager. 7. Maintain appropriate security of the Pharmacy department. 8. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations. 9. Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty. 10. Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gain information on customers and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise. 11. Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order. 12. Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Including, but not limited, to cycle counts, inventory management and will-calls to customers. Qualifications SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position includes the supervision of Pharmacy Technicians and Cashiers and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.
