The role of the advanced practice provider (physician assistant or nurse practitioner) at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is one of collaboration and partnership within an inter-professional team. APPs are board-certified providers who assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury under the supervision of a physician. APPs are expected to participate in evidenced-based clinical practice, clinical research, ongoing innovative education, and shared governance throughout the organization.
The VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) APP Coordinator will serve as the primary contact for the VAD Program in the Heart Institute at JHACH. The APP will see patients with ventricular assist devices during implantation, while inpatient, and in clinic. They will serve as a member of the Heart Failure/Transplant team and will collaborate with other members of the team. They will participate in quality, education, guideline review/revision, and research related to the VAD program.
Qualifications:
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Masters or Doctorate from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program.
Florida APRN licensure and national certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Minimum 2 years work experience with pediatric patients with ventricular assist devices.
BLS and PALS certification will be required prior to start date.
Physician Assistant
Graduation from an APAP (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Florida PA license
Minimum 2 years work experience with pediatric patients with ventricular assist devices.
BLS and PALS certification will be required prior to start date.

In partnership with Dyad leaders, manages the center's clinical operations to ensure organizational objectives relative to SSP metrics, growth and strategy, membership goals are regularly met and/or exceeded.
Ensures, monitors, and tracks that key performance targets are met, including but not limited to: SSP metrics, wait times, care team integrity/care promoter engagement and turnover.
Leads great quality selection, hiring and on-going training and education for Care Promoters and Pharmacy/Medication Technicians. Facilitates orientation and onboarding of new Care Promoters ensuring they are fully trained to their duties including philosophy of care, patient flow and clinical competencies.
Develops protocols and procedures to improve staff productivity. Collaborates with PCPs to coach, monitor and manage Care Promoter and back-office care team performance; implements progressive improvement plans when needed.
Assists with the development and execution of business strategies that promote growth and support our core model.
Ensures proper back-office staffing scheduling, approves staff timesheets, plans for and manages staffing shortages, performs direct care duties as/when needed.
Ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA, HIPAA and other governing agencies. Enforces clinical and quality standards of ChenMed.
Analyzes data to provide and provides insights which lead to process and performance improvements.
Act as a liaison between patients, their families and additional care staff
Provides clinical support as requested for market initiatives.
Manages medical and administrative equipment inventory. Ensures availability and proper preventative maintenance of emergency equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions; calls for repairs; and evaluating new equipment.
Manages medical supply inventories to guarantee optimum levels are readily available.
Completes all required training to dispense medications from medication room.

The role you'll contribute:
The Clinical Risk Management Coordinator (CRMC) is responsible for the risk management program for the assigned areas. This position is responsible for working in collaboration with the clinical team to ensure adherence to all federal regulations and hospital policies. This position engages in activities which contribute to a safer environment for patients, employees, and visitors. These activities promote customer service, minimize liability risk for the Hospital and proactively identify areas for improvement.
