    Responsibilities The George Washington University Hospital’s Medical-Surgical Rehabilitation Department is seeking a Neurologic / Critical Care Clinical Specialist to join our acute care rehab team full-time. GW Hospital is a 385 bed Level 1 Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center located in the heart of Washington, DC. POSITION SUMMARY The Neurologic/Critical Care Clinical Specialist will be responsible for programmatic development and quality improvement initiatives related to the rehabilitation of the critically ill and patients suffering acute neurologic dysfunction. The Neurologic/Critical Care Clinical Specialist will ensure best-practice approaches to the rehabilitation of these patients in the acute care setting and will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapy. The Neurologic/Critical Care Clinical Specialist is a member of the rehab department leadership team and may be responsible for the supervision and oversight of junior clinicians, ensuring their mentorship, development, and compliance with departmental guidelines The Neurologic/Critical Care Clinical Specialist will carry a primarily neurologic or critical care patient caseload and will share these coverage duties with a PT or OT counterpart, on a rotating basis. Provide input associated with the counseling component of the program to the Case Managers through inputting Case Review information in the UAC Portal every 30 days for each UAC in case load.
