POSITION OVERVIEW:
Production Millwright for an aluminum can manufacturing plant. The plant operates on a continuous schedule 24/7. Employees work 12-hour shifts. This position will work the Night shift. This position will trouble-shoot, repair, replace, maintain and install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical production related equipment within this high-speed metal packaging manufacturing facility. Equipment includes bodymakers, printers, washers as well as other packaging machinery. Responsibilities include following all local, state and federal electrical codes. Documentation of problems and maintenance of equipment and facility systems are also required. These positions will also provide training for equipment operation and safety precautions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Production Millwrights responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
Interest in building and repairing a variety of mechanical systems
Knowledge of computerized machinery

Experience in conveyor systems and maintenance of systems

Locality pay varies by duty location. A fully trained CBP Officer is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary.
Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level. Promotions are at the discretion of the agency.
