This is a specialized position as an Assistant Inheritance Tax Clerk. Among other tasks, primary duties include processing Inheritance Tax returns, processing tax payments and preparing receipts for those payments, and transmitting tax documents and receipts to the Department of Revenue in Harrisburg.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist Inheritance Tax Clerk as needed
Process Inheritance Tax returns and payments
Prepare tax receipts and bank deposit
Make daily deposits to bank and Treasurer's Office
Analyze and respond to Department of Revenue inquiries and information requests
Reconcile receipts with bank deposit each day
Reconcile weekly and monthly report
Process payments for citations
Calculate interest on delinquent returns
Maintain knowledge of tax law
Prepare correspondence to taxpayers and attorneys
