Typical Tasks Cleans, sweeps and mops floors; Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork and metal work; Maintains restrooms in a clean and sanitary condition and replenishes supplies; Changes light bulbs; Empties waste receptacles and ash trays and disposes of trash; Moves and arranges furniture and office equipment; Operates dehumidifier to disinfect rooms; Cleans, disinfects and polishes water fountains; Makes minor repairs to chairs, filing cabinets and desks; Locks office doors and turns out the lights; hangs cubicle curtains; Crushes glass receptacles; Sets up furniture and prepares rooms for special functions. Patrols designated areas making systematic inspections of buildings; Closes and locks buildings; Turns off lights; Observes and reports conditions which may indicate vandalism, illegal entry or fire hazard; Checks identification of persons entering the building and has all persons sign a log book when entering and leaving building during non-office hours; Gives out general information regarding office hours and locations of offices or buildings; Prepares simple records such as time of rounds or a description of incidents. Strips, waxes, and buffs floors; operates and maintains heavy floor care equipment used in work; Vacuums carpets and draperies; Shampoos carpets; Washes walls and inside windows; Replaces light bulbs or flourescent tubes; Performs other related duties as required. Employment Standards No training or experience is required. Some assignments may require possession of a valid California driver's license. Knowledge of: Methods, materials, and equipment used in janitorial work. The Weekday Overnight Custodian will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, fitness equipment and gym floor. Stock locker rooms with proper supplies/paper products. Report any broken or missing amenities or equipment (Toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym equipment etc.) to the Club Manager. Follow “Lost and Found Policy” and turn in lost member property to the Club Manager/Assistant Club Manager immediately. Qualifications/Requirements Custodial experience is preferred. Punctuality and reliability is a must. Ability to work third shift is a must. Honesty and exceptional work ethic. Ability to solve problems independently. Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language. High School diploma/GED equivalent required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling and crouching during shift.
