Under direct supervision, performs a variety of custodial duties in the care of City buildings and facilities. Work involves routine janitorial functions such as sweeping, mopping, washing walls and fixtures, etc., and performing physically strenuous activities such as moving furniture, heavy floor stripping, and operating waxing and buffing equipment. Duties fluctuate slightly within the job title according to assignment and specific needs of area of assignment. Employee must exercise some independent judgment in completion of assigned tasks. Reports to the Recreation Facilities Supervisor.

* Dusts and cleans desks and other furniture.
* Sweeps, strips, waxes, buffs, mops and vacuums floor surfaces.
* Cleans and disinfects restrooms; replenishes paper supplies and soap as necessary.
* Cleans windows, walls, woodwork and light fixtures.
* Sets up and breaks down conference rooms for meetings, arranging furniture as requested.
* Cleans and polishes elevators inside and out.
* Empties trash receptacles; deposits recyclable material in proper receptacles.
* Cleans and dusts tables and other furniture.
* Replaces light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
* Secures and locks building at appropriate times.
* Polices grounds of and around buildings and facilities picking up trash and other debris; rakes leaves.
* Moves and rearranges furniture to set up for groups using City facilities; may secure buildings after groups finish use; inventories and labels equipment.
* May setup and/or breakdown rented equipment for special events.
* May perform landscaping maintenance duties such as mowing the grass, picking up trash and debris, raking leaves, etc.
* Monitors building(s) during rental of facilities as required.
* Nights and weekend work required.
* Performs other related duties as required.
Completion of High School or GED and some experience in custodial work with some experience in the use of heavy floor stripping, waxing, and buffing equipment preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid driver's license.
* Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, and equipment employed in janitorial work.
* Knowledge of heavy floor stripping, waxing, and buffing equipment and the ability to use them effectively.
* Knowledge of cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning materials.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR hourly Associates: • Know your job. • Garage attendant schedule changes
• Capacity counts-understanding of garage capacity and obligations, monitoring of capacity, making decisions based on capacity and obligations
• Ordering cleaning supplies
• Completing garage incident reports and document guests personal statements
• Creating garage access cards in managers absence
• Creating employee key cards
• Primary contact and responsibility for cleanliness of facility. Follow cleaning check list, weekly/monthly deep cleaning responsibilities
• Weekly/monthly cleanliness inspections
• Sign off and be held accountable for cleaning check list and general appearance
• Compile inventory of cleaning supplies needed to complete cleaning tasks, keep up to date
• Maintaining the general level of security, organization and control of the parking garage
• Assist guests with access to the facility
• Proper cash handling procedures
• Enforce access control rules and procedures
• Complete assigned side work per shift, including but not limited to sweeping, taking out trash, etc
• Train new associates on SOP's, procedures and overall garage operations
