This class is accountable for performing the full range of basic tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties. Performs custodial tasks and maintenance of areas such as dormitories, classrooms, offices, auditoriums, kitchens, dining rooms and lavatories including outdoor areas (e.g. trash around buildings); Dusts, mops, sweeps, scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors using appropriate equipment such as floors and other hard surfaces; Operates polishers and buffers; Washes, dusts and polishes glass including windows, woodwork, walls, furniture and metal equipment; Performs minor maintenance; Inspects buildings for damage and reports conditions to supervisor; Replenishes disposable products such as soap, and paper towels; Cleans chalkboards/whiteboards and other classroom surfaces; Vacuums and spot cleans carpeted areas and other fabric surfaces; Deep cleans carpets and fabric surfaces; Cleans and sanitizes sinks, water fountains, and/or fixture in restrooms and similar environments; Cleans and refinishes hard surface flooring; Removes graffiti; Moves furniture (e.g. in classrooms and dormitories) and other items by hand or using appropriate moving devices; Performs set-up for athletic and/or other university functions; Maintains assigned closets and equipment in a neat, clean and safe working condition; Performs limited or minor repairs to equipment assigned; Sweeps walks; collects and disposes of trash; Removes snow and ice from stairways and walkways around buildings; Salts stairways and walkways; Immediately reports any and all unsafe conditions and submits work order; Reports need for repairs. Snow shoveling in the winter, salting, and running snow blowers as needed. Empty all outside ashtrays and sweep in front of office entrance. Check trucker's washroom daily. Sweep dock as needed. Keep doors and windows clean inside building. Clean up outside: pick up cigarette butts, papers, etc. clean up around compactor. Clean/Vacuum all office conference rooms daily/and or as needed. Empty trash and sweep/mop security huts weekly. Remove trash from security huts daily. Vacuum all office areas and clean cubical platforms. Clean ledges of employee storage shelving and dust wall art, as needed Touch up employee restrooms 1 hour prior to shift end Fill, stock and clean Keurig stations in both conference rooms, founders' room and lunchroom, as needed. Fill refrigerators in both conference rooms and founders' room with water/soda, as needed. Maintain cleanliness of all 4 locker room areas. Sweeping, cleaning and spot checking throughout the shift (including showers) Maintain cleanliness of company weight room and mothers room, as needed. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Some heavy lifting Some overtime required. Must be dependable. Follow written as well as oral instructions and be able to carry out said instructions. Must be able to use hand tools, saws, drills, etc. $16-$18/hour M-Th 3:30pm-2:00am
