DUTIES:
Home Cleaning and Organization:
Carry out daily cleaning and upkeep of the residence according to the established schedule, including living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
Ensure each room remains orderly, strictly adhering to special cleaning requirements and precautions for designated areas.
Perform regular deep cleaning to maintain a tidy and aesthetically pleasing high-end living environment.
Professional Laundry & Ironing:
Responsible for washing, drying, ironing, folding, and categorizing household clothing items.
Pay special attention to delicate fabrics and luxury garments, ensuring they remain undamaged and of high quality.
Kitchen and Dining Support:
Maintain a hygienic kitchen environment, including cleaning and routine care of countertops, stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.
Wash and properly store tableware and cookware, ensuring safety and tidiness.
When necessary, assist with basic food preparation or pre-meal setup (cooking skills are a plus).
Environmental Inspection & Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections of indoor and outdoor facilities and promptly report any abnormalities or potential issues (e.g., equipment malfunctions, leaks, damage).
Perform basic maintenance for minor household equipment or environmental issues, or assist professionals in on-site repairs.
Provide moderate cleaning of outdoor areas such as balconies, courtyards, patios/terraces, etc.
Inventory Management & Replenishment:
Regularly check and replenish various cleaning supplies, detergents, paper products, and daily consumables.
Organize and maintain cleanliness in storage areas, and promptly report and assist with procurement if any items are running low, damaged, or unusual.
Supplier/Visitor Assistance:
Upon instruction, prepare relevant areas in advance and coordinate vendor or repair personnel access.
Guide and, if necessary, accompany vendors during their work to ensure the safety and protection of property.
Greet visitors politely, engage in basic communication, and provide services as needed.
Safety Awareness & Reporting:
If any safety hazards (e.g., fire, water leaks, electrical short circuits) or property damage are discovered, promptly report to the manager and assist in handling the situation.
Respect household privacy and property at all times, strictly following confidentiality principles.
In emergencies, assist with or carry out the required procedures, such as evacuation or contacting relevant personnel.
Driving and Transportation Services:
Provide safe, efficient, and comfortable driving services for the Principal during weekends or as needed.
Ensure punctual arrivals and maintain a clean, well-maintained vehicle at all times.
Assist with navigation and ensure smooth, safe travel routes.
Adhere to all traffic regulations and driving safety standards, prioritizing the Principal's safety and comfort.
Equipment & Tools Custody:
Properly maintain, operate, and manage various cleaning tools and household appliances to ensure they remain in good working condition.
Report any damage or irregularities immediately and assist with repairs or replacements.
Team Collaboration and Additional Support:
Maintain effective communication with the House Manager or other household staff.
Adapt flexibly to the household's schedule and be available for overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts as needed.
Provide any other domestic support as requested by the employer or manager, within reasonable capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience in housekeeping for luxury homes or high-end hospitality settings.
Expertise in handling delicate fabrics and luxury garments, including advanced laundry care and ironing techniques.
Physical stamina and mobility to perform demanding tasks and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and morning/evening shifts as needed, adapting to varying schedules.
Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and pass background checks.
Annual flu shot required.
Reliable transportation to commute to Atherton, CA, with a valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record. Demonstrated driving expertise with a focus on safety, punctuality, and providing excellent service.

About The Custodial Relief Program

Job Description
Under supervision, employees in the Custodial Relief Program will be responsible for:
1. Performing routine cleaning tasks;
2. Maintaining interiors of buildings, other facilities and surrounding areas;
3. Maintaining recreational areas, locker rooms and specific exterior areas of buildings such as parking areas, ramps and sidewalks;
4. Operating scrubbers, buffers, wax applicators, burnishers, carpet extractors, pressure washers and other electrical, gas and manual operated appliances and equipment (e.g., leaf blowers);
5. Removing disposable waste materials from premises;
6. Washing interior glass, wall partitions and interior and exterior windows;
7. Caring for custodian tools, equipment and supplies;
8. Securing buildings as required;
9. Driving large vans (e.g. 12-person) and trucks in a safe manner; and
10. Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience
1. Six (6) months (1040 hours) verifiable paid full-time custodial or janitorial experience at a commercial building (such as an office building, warehouse, retail or wholesale store, or non-profit agency or a commercial facility (such as a university, hospital stadium, auditorium, hotel/motel, etc.); OR
2. Certificate of completion of a Custodial Training Program equivalent to those certified by the City and County of San Francisco Human Services Agency; OR
3. Verification of current enrollment in a custodial training course equivalent to those certified by the City and County of San Francisco Human Services Agency at the time of application. Candidates who are enrolled in a custodial training course at the time of application must submit verification of having completed the course (e.g., a copy of their certificate), prior to appointment. Candidates will remain under waiver until such time that verification is provided

Employees in the Custodial Relief Program must:

Role description
Position Description:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of cleaning and housekeeping duties in connection with the maintenance of quarters for interns, physicians, nurses, student nurses, lodgers at Hetch Hetchy project, and others; or performs a variety of cleaning duties in connection with Airport food courts.
Essential Duties:
1. Sweeps and mops floors.
2. Replenishes supplies, as needed.
3. Assists in stripping and waxing floors.
4. Cleans, dusts, and polishes furniture and empties trash receptacles.
5. Moves and cleans tables and chairs as needed; removes used trays, dishes and food from table; keeps trays in order for distribution.
6. Operates commercial dishwashers and trash compactors.
7. Uses and reads Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and chemical solutions.
8. Provides information and assistance to the general public.
9. Ensures waste is disposed of according to recycling procedures.
10. Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
When assigned to quarters at Hetch Hetchy:
1. Changes bed linens, makes beds, and launders soiled linens.
2. Washes toilets, bathtubs and shower stalls daily; washes, stoves, refrigerators and sinks in kitchens; washes shelves, cleans cupboards, dishes, pots and pans; cleans inside windows and blinds.
3. Assists in the preparation and serving of meals.
Nature of Work:
The nature of the work requires sustained physical effort involving continuous light work and occasional heavy work in moving or lifting furniture and equipment, with some exposure to accident and injury hazard and disagreeable elements; ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Reporting Location:
Moccasin is located 140 miles east of the San Francisco Bay Area and requires a 5-hour round trip commute by car in fair weather.
How to qualify

Experience:
* One (1) year of verifiable experience in cleaning at a food court or restaurant.
OR
* One (1) year of verifiable experience in general cleaning and housekeeping at a government or private institutional facility (such as schools, libraries, hospitals, airports, etc.) or a large commercial facility (such as stadiums, auditoriums, arenas, hotels, etc.).
License and Certification:
For positions at Hetch Hetchy:
* Food Safety Sanitation Certificate is required at the time of appointment.
AND
* Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required. Positions at Hetch Hetchy will be required to drive in inclement weather and on mountain roads.

Position Summary
Under direct supervision, it is the primary responsibility of the Custodian to clean and sanitize assigned areas, including both public and private locations of the properties managed by Housing, Dining & Conference Services. The Custodian will clean restrooms facilities, shower areas, common spaces, prepare rooms, apartments and conference areas. The Custodian will also clean and maintain public areas of the housing facilities which includes shampooing carpets, sweeping, mopping, waxing and polishing floors. In addition, the incumbent will vacuum carpets on a regular basis, clean windows and glass surfaces as needed, remove trash from buildings and re-arrange furniture to provide a clean, polished and complete look.
Temporary: Position will end on or before August 29, 2025, permanent status cannot be earned in this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety; operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position; use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication; observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods as required; perform work involving regular physical activity; and establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Some positions may require ability to move up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Must have a general knowledge of the methods, materials, chemicals and equipment used in custodial housekeeping services. Minimum of two years demonstrated custodial or housekeeping experience is required.
Experience in hotel housekeeping positions.
Environmental/Physical/Special
Able to move up to 50 pounds is required. Position is required to wear uniform provided by the department and the ability to carry a department provided mobile phone and answer calls during the work schedule. May be required to work on weekends and/or holidays. Work schedule may change depending on the needs of the organization.
