Introductory Statement: The function of the organization is to provide lodging to transient personnel and their families. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of simple cleaning tasks associated with lodging operations.
Regular & Recurring Duties and Responsibilities: As a working leader, performs the following duties: Distributes and balances workload among employees. Observes work in progress, production, adherence to quality and safety standards. Instructs and trains new employees. Elevates unresolved employee complaints or operational issues to supervisor. Provides input on performance, progress, and disciplinary problems. Reports all repair and maintenance requirements according to established policy. Reports all safety violations to immediate supervisor. Updates computer database with room status, occupancy, check-outs and reports on housekeeping area. Ensures adequate stock of cleaning materials and equipment required to do the work. Assists custodial worker in selecting and using cleaning agents safely and cost effectively and instructs them in planning sequence of work.
Performs custodial worker duties as time permits or as assigned by supervisor. Cleans guest rooms, storerooms, corridors, stairways, facilities and other areas. Sweeps, dry mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Empties ashtrays and wastebaskets. Collects soiled linen and replaces with clean linen.

This position is responsible for cleaning projects requiring advanced training and demonstrated skill. Inspects work performed in assigned building/property(s) and submits reports to the Supervisor. The Janitor is responsible for participating in the day-to-day functions of performing various physical tasks, as well as cleaning and maintaining the facility and provide housekeeping tasks as needed.Major Responsibilities:* Maintain a safe and clean environment* Clean restrooms, offices and public areas* Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping* Shampoo carpets as assigned or needed* Dust flat surfaces
* Operate basic electrical cleaning equipment* Clean exterior and interior entrance door glass* Work on special projects as needed* Clean building entrances and concourse* Ability to read and understand English* Clean and maintain cleaning equipment* Dispose of all waste, including bulk trash removal from building in all areas* Attend and conform to all policies established by ASM Global in the successful performance of this position* Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous and polite manner.
