The Facilities & Cleaning Technician will be responsible for keeping our facility looking its best by performing a variety of tasks related to cleaning, maintenance, and facility setup. Position description Title:Facilities & Cleaning Technician Accountable to:Facilities and Event Manager Hours: Part-Time, Hourly Position Summary: This position ensures the cleanliness and set-up of the campus of New Brunswick Theological Seminary, including performing cleaning and light facility tasks. Responsibilities: * Performs general and detailed cleaning of interior and exterior spaces including, but not limited to mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, washing, polishing and dusting floors, carpet, walls, windows, and doors; cleaning restrooms, stairwells, offices and other areas as scheduled or required. * Trash and recycling removal. * Maintains supplies in restrooms and unclogs drains. * Sets-up and breaks down classrooms and meeting spaces as requested. * Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting inventory needs to Facilities and Event Management. * Assists with light building, grounds, and parking lot maintenance including, but not limited to painting, pressure-washing, changing out locks, moving and assembling furniture, replacing filters, changing light bulbs, litter removal, snow removal, and planting trees. Qualifications * One year of experience performing building cleaning and maintenance is required. * To obtain the knowledge and skills needed formal or informal education is required to ensure the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance. * A valid New Jersey Driver's License is preferred. * Standard tools, materials, methods, and practices involved in building maintenance and safe work practices. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manuals. * Ability to analyze and evaluate situations in the context of established goals and objectives. * Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment. * Experience working with persons from diverse social locations and perspectives. * Ability to collaborate with other staff and faculty and maintain collegial relations. * Commitment and understanding to working with a diverse and multicultural educational environment. You will be responsible for performing building maintenance, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors, dusting, trash removal rest rooms, offices, classroom, break room cleaning, make and breakdown events setups and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that building and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. Ideal candidate will have professional attitude & appearance and is self-motivated, hardworking, dependable, and responsible. Job Requirements * Must be able to follow instructions from supervisor and complete all tasks effectively. * Prior cleaning experience is a plus. * Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. * Janitor experience a plus but will train. * Reliable Transportation.
