Clean and maintain floors, furniture, woodwork, equipment, outside and play areas, landscaping. * Report all large repair needs, operate hand and/or power tools or other equipment needed to maintain cleanliness and beauty of facility and grounds.; Determine, in conjunction with building administrator(s), the priorities on a daily, short-term and long-term basis. * Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.; Exhibit exemplary public relations; must establish positive relationships with all staff members, and must abide by the rules of confidentiality. * Interpret data reports regarding operating systems with the school, including some knowledge of computer equipment and operations. * Exercise courtesy and tact in all situations.; Be familiar with all necessary safety procedures in all areas of campus operations, and with all types of equipment and materials on campus and within the building; take safety considerations into account at all times.; Assist in moving or arranging furniture and equipment when requested. * Insure the security of the facility and take appropriate action when vandalism or theft occurs, including the reporting of same to the appropriate people.; Inspect the facility for safety hazards on a routine basis. * Use initiative in adapting or interpreting work practices.; Perform other duties as assigned by building administrator(s). The Home provides care and services to residents living independently, as well as to those requiring personal, assisted living, intermediate and skilled care. CUSTODIAL WORKER II Job Location: 300 South McCormick Street Prescott, Arizona 86303 Posting Details: Hourly Pay Rate: $15.68 Job Summary: The Custodial Worker II is responsible for the performance of various heavy-duty janitorial services to create a pleasant and clean environment for the residents, visitors, and staff of the Arizona Pioneers' Home. Job Duties: • Strip, rinse and wax floors using heavy-duty floor equipment, which includes movement of all furniture from the affected areas • Wash, mop and clean emergencies require such as in restrooms, lobby and any area on the property • Clean resident rooms including the windows and moving of furniture such as beds and dressers • Clean offices, Stair Tower, Activity House and outer buildings such as patios and porches • Restock housekeeping cleaning and resident linen supplies • Collect soiled laundry, transporting it to the laundry room • Clean and set up lobby, lounges and halls for activities • Washing all windows interior and exterior • Collect and deposit trash • Clean restrooms Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of: • Occupational hazards/safety measures used in the operation of heavy duty cleaning equipment • Methods, materials, chemicals and disinfectants used in cleaning public buildings • Cleaning processes and light maintenance of equipment used • Various qualities and kinds of carpet and cleaning techniques • Theories of on the job instructions of janitorial practices Skill: • Interpersonal relationships, patience and empathy with elderly clientele and residents • Analyzing a product to use accurately and adapt to an effective course of action • Cleaning and maintaining of heavy cleaning equipment • Safe operation of heavy duty power equipment • Time and work management Ability: • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors with patients and empathy • Reason and prioritize tasks need to be completed • Perform assigned tasks to a high standard Selective Preference(s): • A candidate with prior experience in a custodial position Pre-Employment Requirements: • Must undergo annual screening for TB with negative results • Valid Arizona Class 1 fingerprint card within 20 days of hire Benefits: The State of Arizona offers a comprehensive benefits package to include: • Optional employee benefits include short-term disability insurance, deferred compensation plans, and supplemental life insurance • Life insurance and long-term disability insurance • Vacation with 10 paid holidays per year • Health and dental insurance • Retirement plan • Sick leave For a complete list of benefits provided by The State of Arizona, please visit our benefits page Retirement: • Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) • Please note that enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment Contact Us: • If you have any questions please feel free to contact Arlene Seagraves at *************************** for assistance
