In 1964, Billy Casper became Doral's first repeat winner by finishing one shot ahead of Jack Nicklaus.

In 1980, Seve won The Masters, the first win by a European player, and at the time, he was the youngest winner of the tournament, at age 23.

The Spa, originally called the Saturnia International Spa, was added to the Resort in 1987 and is ranked as one of the top spa destinations in the US and the largest in the state of Florida.

The West Dade Federation of Homeowner Associations was formed in 1989 under the leadership of Morgan Levy to stand strong against any proposals that threatened the community's welfare.

Greg Norman, The Great White Shark, shot a course-record 62, overcame a seven-shot deficit, forced a playoff with Paul Azinger, Mark Calcavecchia and Tim Simpson and sunk a 22-foot eagle chip on the first sudden-death hole to win the 1990 Doral Ryder Open at -15 under par.

Incorporation began in earnest in 1995 with the realization that residents were paying a very high price for services received; they wanted more services at a reasonable price.

In 1996, the first election of the Community Council was held and soon-to-be County Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Cancio, Sr., Mario Pita and Barbara B. Thomas were elected and three other members were appointed.

In 2002, the KSL Hotel Corporation, the company then operating Doral Golf Resort & Spa, filed a lawsuit against Hotel Intercontinental for using Doral in its name.

Doral, incorporated on January 28, 2003, in one of thirty-four municipalities in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

In 2005, he won the ‘Duel at Doral’ against Phil Mickelson on the Blue Monster before a sellout crowd.

The following year, Tiger Woods was victorious once again at Doral, but 2007 marked the end of the Doral Open era and ushered in the World Golf Championship (WGC) era at Doral, which spanned the next 10 years attracting the top 76 golfers and paying out the highest stakes.

On June 12, 2012, The Trump Organization purchased Doral Golf Resort & Spa.

In 2013, Tiger reclaimed the top spot at the WGC Championship making him the only 4 time winner at Doral.
