The Child Care Teacher should have knowledge of child development and related activities; behavior management methods for children; food and nutrition for children; state and local regulations for licensed child care facilities; basic principles of supervision and training. The Child Care Teacher should have the skills and abilities to check activities, inspect facilities and equipment for safety; perform a wide variety of teaching and caregiving for children; analyze problems/situations and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable policies and procedures; understand and carry out oral written instructions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective relationships; meet the public and their children with courtesy and tact; maintain appropriate records.
