POSITION OBJECTIVE
Working as a member of a cross functional, self-directed work team of Skilled Trades Workers 3 technicians to troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment and systems throughout Case Western Reserve University buildings in accordance with blueprints, manuals, codes, and best practices. This is a lead electrical technician role where electrician skills will be used to assist zone electricians in solving backlog, complex electrical problems, and triaging work between in-house and what needs to be elevated to go out to contractors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Work with customer services and the electrical supervisor to recognize backlog in electrical calls within the zones. Work with the zone electricians to resolve backlog issues by assisting in diagnosing or repairing, putting a team together, or self-taking on the more complex problems freeing the zone electricians up to get other work done. (40%)
* Independently diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical systems, megger motors, and assist zone staff when called upon to do so. Assist other lead technician withing the team (30%)
* Work with the facilities engineer in implementing recommended changes to electrical systems by working with the zone technicians or individually. (15%)
