The Home and Community Bases Services Aide is a person who provides support, assistance with personal hygiene and household functions for an individual to be able to remain in their own home.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities
* Reports observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager. Notifies the Agency Director immediately if any incidents or accidents occur.
* Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when business travel is required.
* May provide or assist clients with activities of daily living including: bathing in bed, tub or shower; care of hair including shampoo, combing and brushing; care of teeth and mouth including denture care; nail care, filing only; skin care including pericare and applying lotion; transfer of patient from bed to chair and to wheelchair. Transfer of patients on and off bedpan, commode and toilet.
* Assists with household tasks directly essential to clients personal care.
Education and Experience
Experience Desired
* Six months experience in home care preferred.
* Successful completion of a competency evaluation.
License Requirements
* Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
* Current CPR certification.
State Specific Requirements
* Category I and II- Home Health Aide- Medicare Certified Home Health Provider
* WI: Must be listed on the Home Health Aide registry.
Category III and IV:
* WI: Must have forty (40) hours training or six (6) months of equivalent experience.
Skill Requirements
* Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet identified client's needs.
* Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
* Able to work independently.
* Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Major Responsibilities

5. Create an environment that supports a wide range of activities and interests; enforce school policies and site rules and use positive techniques to help guide children's behavior.
6. Read weekly meeting notes and communication log book
7. Maintain the YWCA Child Care Program licensure; comply with all state licensing regulations and training, Department of Public Instruction Guidelines, and Young Star.
8. Share in organizing and cleaning out the site storage area to maintain it in an orderly fashion
9. Assist with the lesson planning process.
10. Assist in setting up two parent events per year (open house, conferences, talent show etc.)
11. Attend staff, departmental, and other YWCA meetings as assigned.
12. Maintain familiarity with YWCA goals, mission and programs.

Qualifications
o High School Diploma, or equivalent; advanced degree in child development preferred.
o 1-3 years' experience working with children.
o Satisfactorily completed 10 hours training in the care of school-age children or equivalent; as approved by Wisconsin DPI; or be willing to complete at least 10 hours training within 6 months of hire.
o Current CPR and AED certification.
o Ability to provide a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children.
o Detail-oriented with good communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
o Ability to develop a team approach with staff, volunteers and community partners.
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills; enthusiastic, warm and approachable.
