Assists in administration of the School Age Care (SAC) programs located in school districts outside of York City; including, but not limited to, compliance with the Department of Human Services licensing requirements to ensure quality programming and staffing, Keystone Stars requirements and staff management/scheduling. Establish relationships with school district and transportation personnel. Directly supervise SAC staff and outside visitors.
These positions are part time, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 8:30 am and/or 3 pm to 6 pm. Flexibility in scheduling is essential as related to early dismissals and school closings.
• Ensures that all Department of Human Services licensing requirements are met, including maintaining staff and children's files, ratios, and facility compliance for all School Age Care sites. Coordinates DHS Licensing visits.
• Maintains an open and positive relationship with SAC families. Schedules and conducts enrollments and thoroughly maintains child files. Fields concerns, suggestions and complaints from families before soliciting support from (Chief Program Officer) CPO. Manages communication about the SAC program with families on an ongoing basis and schedules parent meetings quarterly.
• Schedules staff appropriately to meet Department of Human Services mandated ratios and manages call offs and schedule adjustments for SACC staff. Approves time weekly for payroll. Schedules and leads monthly staff meetings. Maintains staff files.
• Oversees staff development and implementation of appropriate curriculum to meet the needs of the children's out of school time experience. Provides classroom support as needed toward project based curriculum, anti-bias education, standards and regulations, and accreditation.
• Supports preventative, positive behavior strategies and models to other teaching staff. Supports message of constant supportive practices.
• Takes responsibility for preparation of SAC and Creative Explorers program planning and follows budget with support from CPO/CFO. Completes weekly site administrative tasks, such as inputting attendance, printing forms and ordering supplies.
• Supports the CPO in developing and managing appropriate training experiences for SAC staff and maintains requirements for STARS. Supports teachers and assistants in maintaining professional goals and their Professional Development Record.
• Provides input into the preparation of School Age Care and Creative Explorers program budget and maintain revenue and expenses to the budget. Assists the CFO and Child Care Accounts representative in reviewing family accounts to ensure they are correct and current.
• Prepares Keystone Stars grant applications and performs grant reporting for all school-age off- sites with the support of CPO and CFO.
• Assists in planning for on-going growth and improved quality of services to children by searching for off-site collaborations to start additional programs.
• Assists preparation of publicity to promote activities such as brochures, employee recruitment, educational programs or other services with assistance from the Marketing Coordinator.
• Plays an active role in promoting all YWCA offerings and programs and services; attends “back to school” nights at participating schools, fairs/festivals and other community events.
• Assists CPO in supervising all School Age Care employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Assists the CPO in completing 90-day introductory and annual staff performance evaluations.
• Takes responsibility for planning, staffing, and operating the 11-week Camp Explorers program, if applicable and the 42 week before and after school age programming.
• Completes the School Age Professional Credential within 24 months of assignment.
• Completes 24 hours of training annually as assigned.
• Completes Fire Safety Training annually.
• Completes Emergency Safety Training annually
• Completes Food Program Training annually.
• Completes Water Safety Training annually. (site specific)
• Completes the Director Credential within 24 months of assignment.

Promotes the following Classroom Teaching Responsibilities in SAC Programs

• Serves meals and refreshments to children under CACFP regulations in a family style fashion.

Qualifications
Associates or Bachelor's degree in education or human relations field.
Background in childcare or education and significant management experience.
