What We Are Looking For Baylor University is seeking multiple Full-Time TIP Teaching Assistants and Full-Time Lead TIP Teaching Assistant to support the mission and vision of Baylor University and serve within the School of Education's TIP Program. Baylor TIP Residential Summer Program Teaching Assistants (TAs) provide supervision and mentoring to the students who qualify for and participate in summer residential programs offered through The Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development. To care for and educate children ages 12 weeks to school age in a developmentally appropriate early childhood environment following criteria from NAEYC, Texas Rising Star and Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards. Also, to model high-quality interactions, guidance and education strategies for college students and visitors to the lab school. This position reports to the Facility Director of the Child Development Lab School and exercises no supervision.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Unpleasant Exposure Minor Hazard-Moderate exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors are present. There is occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency and severity are limited.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education, OR an Associate's degree with at least 36 credits in an early childhood education-related field.
Experience: One year of experience working with young children, ages birth to five (5) years. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor's degree in an Education-related field for 1 year of experience.
Special Requirements: Commitment to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within first six weeks of employment.
