Teachers will develop and deliver curriculum to Upward Bound participants in their designated subject areas during the six-week Summer Instructional Component.
Essential Job Functions:
* Develop curriculum and select instructional materials for one of these academic courses (Science, Math, English, or Latin).
* Design and conduct pre and post-test in subject area. Create lesson plans for six weeks of summer instruction.
* Create supply list to be purchased by UB. Complete student evaluations. Possess the ability and experience to work with and motivate low income/first generation students.
* Assist with other duties as assigned by the director.
* Maintain a positive learning environment using guidelines set forth in the UB Staff and Student Handbooks.
* Assist participants in achieving success in high school and post-secondary. Leading participants towards enrollment and completion of a post-secondary degree.
* Observe and comply with state law, Federal Upward Bound regulations, OSU-OKC policy and procedures and guidelines set forth in the UB Staff and Student Handbooks.
* Must be able to perform duties listed above in person or through a virtual classroom setting.
* Completes all mandatory training.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Our faculty is comprised of caring and dedicated teachers with a strong foundation in early childhood education. School-Age Teachers are responsible for:
Maintaining supervision for 20-40 school-aged children at all times
Following a daily schedule that includes implementing activities and projects
Ensure materials for each activity/project is available to children
Meeting the individual emotional and physical needs of children in your care
Creating and maintaining a physical environment that is welcoming and stimulating for all children and families
Interacting with children to support learning through play and exploration
Implement developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies to ensure success for all students
Communicating appropriately and professionally with students, families, and fellow staff
Comply with all Quality Assurance and state standards to ensure each child's safety and well-being
Create a nurturing and positive learning environment to develop a life-long love of learning for all children
Teacher Qualifications:

Prior classroom experience (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten)
