POSITION SUMMARY
Carry out QC lab analysis of raw materials, in process samples, final products, and project samples so that results are accurately determined in a timely manner, properly communicated to customers, and performed in accordance with the established Quality Systems based on ISO 9001, FSSC 22000/ISO 22002, and all applicable cGXP. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Carry out all work to the appropriate Quality Standards, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000/ISO 22002, cGXPs, and API, as appropriate in each laboratory. Flag any issues as they arise.
Responsible for daily calibrations of all lab equipment and maintenance of records to the appropriate Quality Standards to ensure equipment is always ready for use.
Work independently, as well as in a team, so that work is smoothly and efficiently handled, shift hand-over is completed with a full understanding of ongoing issues, support production operators in their in-process testing, with clear and current communication with the lab manager/supervisor of issues and how they are being handled.
Recognize, investigate, and troubleshoot questionable results and equipment problems so that resolution of the matter is obtained in a timely manner, and the proper people are kept informed or asked for guidance.
Analyze incoming raw materials, in process samples, finished goods, and project samples per the established SOPs using various instrumentation and techniques in the QC and API laboratories.
Fully functional in API testing and API data review.
Manages OOS investigations and ensures timely closure and resolution. Responsible in ensuring any CAPAs implemented were effective and monitored.
Drive the implementation of new testing methods and/or method improvments.
Primary trainer in laboratory testing and tasks.
Follows all Company policies, procedures, and instructions using cGMP so that work is properly and safely done, the quality system is maintained, and good housekeeping is carried out.

Job description
The Formulation Chemist works in the Research and Development group. The Formulation Chemist is part of the Santec Products team that formulates and supports hard surface cleaning products. The Formulation Chemist will also interact with the sales team to develop new products and support the existing product line.
Essential Functions:
Manage new hard surface cleaner product formulations development projects or formula modifications projects aligning with specified customer and/or company objectives.
Provide technical guidance and problem solving in support of growth objectives for new and existing hard surface cleaner product line.
Develop and execute test protocols and/or standard test methods related to the development of I&I hard surface cleaner formulations.
Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements (FIFRA) as well as other hard surface cleaner product certification programs (NSF, Kosher, etc).
Familiar with the various environmental/sustainable programs and initiative (Safer Choice, GreenSeal, Ecologo).
Provide technical support in the field and/or at customer locations as needed.
Provide scientifically sound written and verbal communication to the customer, sales/marketing staff and R&D management on project updates and other technical issues.
Stay current on industry trends and customer needs to anticipate new product applications and formulations.
Develop and present technical presentations to internal (Santec Products) and external (customers, industry) audiences.
Maintain complete and up to date technical information in Laboratory notebook
Develop technical training material for distribution to field sales organization as needed.
Operate within specified company safety guidelines. This includes wearing safety glasses at all times, following safe operating procedures and maintaining a clean work environment.
Job Requirements:
BS in Chemistry or Sciences
At least 2 years of experience formulating hard surface cleaners and sanitizers.
Travel less than 10% of the time
Ability to stand for extended periods of time during field trials and plant evaluations

The APTIM Federal Services, LLC team at the USEPA Analytical Laboratory Support Program (ALS) has an opening for an analytical chemist to help develop drinking water methods. The chosen candidate will join a group of APTIM chemists on-site at the USEPA Andrew Breidenbach Environmental Research Center (AWBERC) in Cincinnati, OH. Under the general supervision of the ALS management and senior staff, the ideal candidate will design and conduct experiments to develop drinking water methods for a variety of trace contaminants.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
+ Work independently and in a small group designing experiments, conducting extractions, performing analysis, and compiling data
+ Operate GCs, GC/MS, LC-MS/MS, and water quality instruments as needed
+ Abide by USEPA and APTIM safety and quality control procedures
+ Support the quality assurance program with data review and evaluations
+ Communicate effectively within and outside the APTIM group
+ Document experiments and write methods consistent with USEPA and APTIM standards
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with 8 years of related experience, a Master's degree with 4 years of experience, or a PhD
