US HWY 301, Riverview, FL 33578 The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth Riverview * AdventHealth is expanding our medical expertise, innovation, and state-of-the-art technology to southern Hillsborough County through a brand-new hospital in Riverview, which is scheduled to open in 2024. * The new AdventHealth Riverview hospital will include 82 beds at time of opening with space to expand to 202 beds in the future. * This $250 million project in Riverview also includes a 100,000 square foot, four-story Medical Office Building that will provide community members convenient access to expert care * AdventHealth Riverview will offer a wide range of health care services which includes emergency, cardiovascular, digestive, urology, orthopedic and women's care. The role you'll contribute: The PRN Chaplain assists the lead chaplain and the resident chaplain in performing the duties of the Pastoral Care department. These include patient visitation, being on call, managing the volunteer visitation team, and participating in the spiritual events of the hospital. The Chaplain is a member of the health care team who provides for the pastoral needs of patients, families, and staff. Through professional training in the areas of theology, spirituality, worship, and counseling, assists patients to understand more fully life's events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being The value you'll bring to the team: * Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to perform patient assessments/interventions by identifying, physical, psychosocial and developmental needs and adapting interventions accordingly * The Chaplain's role will be in the areas of comforter, liturgist, witness, resource person, and counselor with the specific intent to help others, through words, acts, and relationships, to experience as fully as possible the reality of God's presence and love in their lives * Maintains an ecumenical spirit within the hospital and sense of hospitality for people of all faiths * Establishes positive working relationship within the hospital among all members of the health care, patients, and families * Respects patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity. Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: * Minimum of one year experience as a team member in an ecumenical setting OR Completed 2 or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) OR College degree in religion. * Ministerial credentials from a church or denomination * Certificate of completion of most recent CPE units. * Proof of completion or continuing education towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in religion or theology This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Navy Chaplain, your job spans a broad range of duties. You will support fellow servicemembers during their most joyful and most difficult moments. Your responsibilities might be to:

Conduct worship services in a variety of settings
Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funeral services and baptisms
Counsel individuals who seek guidance
Oversee religious education programs, such as Sunday school and youth groups
Visit and provide spiritual guidance and care to hospitalized personnel and their family members
Train lay leaders who conduct religious education programs
Promote attendance at religious services, retreats and conferences
Advise leaders at all levels regarding morale, ethics and spiritual well-being

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


U.S. citizen or equivalent
Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited educational institution
Have two years of full-time religious leadership experience
Must be able to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of Defense

General qualifications may vary depending upon whether youre currently serving, whether youve served before or whether youve never served before.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Navy Chaplains immerse themselves in the daily lives of service members. In what can be best described as a ministry of presence, they are there to offer guidance and insight in the moment, whenever theyre needed. You could provide support while on land or at sea, when presiding over religious ceremonies on a base or when conducting services from the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.
