    Chaplain Job In Happy Valley, OR

    On an on-call basis, provides or coordinates age appropriate spiritual care and support to hospitalized patients and their families which are consistent with their spiritual traditions and values. Essential Responsibilities: + Directly provides by assessment and provision of spiritual care needs to hospitalized patients and their families utilizing personal and community resources as well as the multi-disciplinary team. + Provides emotional and spiritual support to the hospital employees. + Assures plans are clearly documented, implemented, and evaluated for effectiveness. + Actively participates in quality management, performance improvement and regulatory compliance activities of the hospital. + Participate in evaluation, policy, and goal development as requested. Other duties as needed. Basic Qualifications: Experience + N/A Education + Bachelors degree. + Completion of at least one (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with the following Chaplain organization: Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Clinical Pastoral Education International, Chaplaincy Pro, The College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, Spiritual Care Association. License, Certification, Registration + N/A Additional Requirements: + Thorough knowledge of crisis intervention. + Working knowledge of diverse belief systems which could affect planning for medical care and ability to articulate same for clinical staff. + Demonstrated ability in pastoral care counseling techniques in working with patients and families experiencing loss/death/grief with respect and sensitivity in individual beliefs, coping mechanisms and spiritual practices. + Ability to participate effectively within an interdisciplinary team through negotiation, cooperation, and group learning. + Ability to document clinical care clearly and concisely in an electronic medical record. + Ability to travel to assigned location + Ability to take call during the evenings, on weekends and holidays and must be available to respond during emergencies. Preferred Qualifications: + Minimum three (3) years of experience providing Pastoral Care on a multi-disciplinary team in a health care setting. + Demonstrated competency in health care ethics. + Masters degree in counseling, psychology or marriage and family therapy. + Completion of at least four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with the following Chaplain organization: Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Clinical Pastoral Education International, Chaplaincy Pro, The College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, Spiritual Care Association. + Masters degree in counseling, psychology or marriage and family therapy. + Preferred Licenses and Certifications from the following Chaplain organization: Association of Professional Chaplains, Clinical Pastoral Education International, Chaplaincy Pro, The College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, Spiritual Care Association. + National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) and Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) COMPANY: KAISER TITLE: Chaplain-On Call (Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers) LOCATION: Clackamas, Oregon REQNUMBER: 1342072 External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.
