Job Summary
The Good Samaritan Society is seeking to hire a compassionate and adaptable Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team as a Travel CNA! This opportunity allows a CNA to travel locally by working in various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from home address providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement. Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned resident. Assists the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and also provides range of motion and passive exercises. Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
The NA aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed. Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary. Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate. May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement. CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually. Maintains all department specific required certifications.
When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor
vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license. Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of
this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy per the leaders request.

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE AND FUNCTION
The Pet Care Assistant works with the veterinary medical team to provide and prepare for the best medical care of pets, and to ensure this is provided in a happy, welcoming, friendly and efficient manner, influencing clients to return and refer their friends and families.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
· Prepare the treatment room for examination of pets and all necessary medical item and supplies (e.g. vaccinations, fecal loops, slides, etc.) for the veterinarian and/or veterinary technician. Set up fecals, smears, and skin scrapings as allowed by state rules and regulations.
· Maintain the flow of the Cycle of Service in accordance with position. Provide Client Education regarding preventive care, Optimum Wellness Plans, and basic status of hospitalized pets. Serve as support to the Client Services Coordinator staff on an as-needed basis.
· Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
· Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests (e.g. canine heartworm, feline leukemia, FIV, and canine parvovirus) as allowed by state rules and regulations.
· Monitor the comfort of hospitalized patients. Ensure the comfort of hospitalized patients by "walking", exercising, feeding, and cleaning cages and pet (when approved by the veterinarian or veterinary technician).
· Bathe and dip pets when necessary to treat dermatological conditions (when advised by veterinarian or veterinary technician.
· Clean the surgical suite and instruments.
· Ensure cleanliness of the hospital including but not limited to housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, mopping, cage cleaning, trash collection and removal and instrument cleaning as outlined by hospital protocols.

Medical Assistant (MA/CMA/RMA) is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week), scheduled Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with some flexibility needed. The MA will support the St. Paul Clinic. $2,500 sign on Bonus!
Medical Assistant (MA/CMA/RMA) position is expected to maintain and promote excellent patient care and customer service by supporting the efficient running of the clinic through direct patient care clinical duties and administrative duties. Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served as directed by providers (MD/APP) and nurses but in coordination with the entire patient care team. We organize care around each patient's condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.
Compensation & Benefits Information
The hourly wage for a Medical Assistant (MA) is $21.00 to $29.53, with a median wage of $24.61, or $21.00 to $31.30 with a median wage of $26.09 if you are certified (CMA/RMA). Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity.
Core Responsibilities and Duties
Provides direct support to the providers during patient visits.
Works as an integral part of the clinical team to provide consistent delivery of quality patient care by collecting pertinent medical information (i.e. medical history, allergies, medications, falls risk, depression) in the patients' electronic medical record documenting, explaining treatment procedures, preparing patients for examination, assisting providers during exams and collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
Accurately evaluates provider orders and is able to effectively communicate with providers when clarifications are needed.
Provides patient care in accordance with Gillette, Joint Commission and quality standards.
Communicates patient-related data and information to enhance active and informed decision making by patients, families, nurse colleagues, and other healthcare providers.
Demonstrates proficient access to Gillette clinical information systems and completes documentation in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner.
Completes documentation in an accurate, neat and timely manner, effectively detailing the events of the appointment including rooming patients, initial screening (falls, behavior, PROM surveys, etc.), gathering chief complaint, clinical measurement data (Height/weight, vital signs, etc.), obtain electrocardiogram, procedure support (passing instruments, supporting patient, positioning, etc.), pre-procedure instruction phone calls, reinforce, administer immunizations patient/family instructions and details for follow up.
Maintains efficient patient flow throughout the clinic experience.
Ensures individual work areas and exam rooms are regularly cleaned, stocked and kept orderly to promote a safe and efficient work area.
Maintains supplies and equipment throughout the clinic environment.
Supports the clinical team in patient care coordination and communications.
Prepares pre-visit documentation for clinic visits.
Answering Phones
Assists with communication and correspondence.
Manages patient information received from outside resources.
Documents using EMR and other organizational tools.
Tracks lab/imaging results and notifies provider/nursing as appropriate.
Obtaining procedure/test reports for procedures performed at outside healthcare facilities.
Assists scheduling by communicating needs, confirm scheduling of referrals, etc.
Qualifications
Required as a MA/CMA/RMA:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Current Medical Assistant certification through the AAMA.
Current Medical Assistant registration through the AMT.
Must obtain Medical Assistant certification/registration by either the AAMA (CMA) or AMT (RMA) within 6 months from date of hire.
Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association) or obtain within 90-days of hire.
Preferred
Experience in a hospital or clinic environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong customer service skills and knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Demonstrated basic clinic workflow and procedure support skills.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, which includes ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of professional staff, patients, and families.
Demonstrated strong computer skills - must be able to learn a variety of programs.
