The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. In this twelve-laboratory facility, we perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction.

Summary of Essential Duties:
The Cardiovascular Technician/ Radiology Tech assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Electrophysiology Lab
Provides a safe patient care environment, maintains and operates the physiological monitoring/recording system for both interventional cardiac and electrophysiology studies
Assists physicians by functioning as scrub tech, monitor role or assistant circulator, archives all digital images and documents all actions taken by the EP Lab
Responsible for being able to setup and operate all equipment within the department that may be required for a given procedure including but not limited to: Electrophysiology studies, Ablation, Pacemakers and ICD implants
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of a JRCERT Radiologic Technology program required
License/Certifications:
Current ARRT and CRT certifications required
Fluoroscopy permit required
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (ACLS preferred)
ARRT-CI specialty certification preferred
Experience:
Experience performing a variety of Radiologic Interventional scans and/or procedures in a busy clinic environment preferred
Applicants with more than 3 years of experience may be considered as Electrophysiology IR Tech II
Excellent arrhythmia recognition and hemodynamic monitoring skills required
Congenital Heart experience preferred

What will you be doing:
The Radiology Technician (CRT) supports patient care by performing x-rays as directed by physician for diagnostic purposes. The CRT is proficient with the use of x-ray equipment and associated procedures according to assignments and job responsibilities. Additionally, the CRT will perform routine and basic administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.
Demonstrates clinical proficiency and technical skills as a CRT.
Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, positioning patients on the examining table and adjusting equipment to acquire optimum views of specific body area as ordered by clinician.
Performs procedures based on established technique chart using independent judgment to support the radiological orders.
Exhibits solid understanding and relationships with other departments as it relates to radiological services.
Demonstrates basic understanding of patient care flow and insurance concepts.
Uses appropriate technique charts and assures markers are set appropriately.
Confident with working in multiple x-ray sites and acts as a role model in providing care; assist in Precepting other CRT and Limited XT staff.
Able to retrieve studies from PACS for review and assists with quality assurance.
Maintains logs for QC based on manufacturers recommendation.
Performs appropriate infection controls processes.
Reviews dosimeter reports monthly.
Provides patient education pertaining to requested studies and aids in new staff orientation.
Assists the clinician during examinations and/or minor surgeries.
Keeps exam and/or procedure rooms stocked with adequate medical/surgical supplies, maintains instruments, and performs sterilization as required.
Escorts patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measures vital signs and documents information in patient's chart, and performs designated diagnostic tests as directed by the provider.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
One (1) plus years' experience as an X-Ray Technician in a clinical setting, preferably in outpatient clinical/medical office setting.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED.
Certifications/Licenses Requirements:
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) for California.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

As a Radiological Technologist on the X-Ray team, you will contribute to our quality care by producing diagnostic images using a variety of radiographic equipment, including fixed radiographic, O & C-Arms and fluoroscopic. You will perform radiographic procedures on neonate, children, adults, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Training Program required
License/Certification:
Current CRT, CRT-Fluoro, ARRT and BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) certifications required
Experience:
Radiology Tech experience preferred
Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing, decision making and multi-tasking skills required

Summary of Essential Duties:
As a Mammography Technologist, you will perform a broad range of scans/procedures from basic to somewhat complex relative to a specific patient population and may assist physicians in performing procedures as well as transport medications from the delivery area to an authorized imaging area. This includes needle and radar localizations, as well as stereotactic breast biopsies. Essential Functions
Responsible for x-ray services as needed
Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.
Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
Will need to push patient in a wheelchair
Patient Registration
Conduct patient registration, which includes securing required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verification of insurance and patient eligibility.
Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for assigned center
Coordinate provider referrals to assigned Specialist
Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status
Patient Preparation and Rooming
Inform technical staff of patient flow.
Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit;
Perform preliminary physical test (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider as needed.
Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider.
Stocking
Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed
Responsible for completing order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels; regularly check expiration dates on supplies.
Administrative
Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files.
Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence
Ensure reception is well maintained
Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up on care
Perform opening and closing duties, which includes cashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building.
Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed

The Limited X-Ray Technician (XT) works with Medical Providers and/or a Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing patient x-rays and additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Limited X-Ray Technician will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Education
Graduate of an approved Limited X-Ray Tech (LMRT) program required.
Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications

Applicable state licensure as a Limited Permit X- Ray Tech required.
A person holding a limited permit may perform digital radiography within the respective scopes of practice upon completion of 20 hours of additional training in digital radiologic technology and obtaining an authorization from CDPH.

An LXRT may only perform the following x-rays:
-Chest radiography permit: radiography of the heart and lungs
-Extremities radiography permit: radiography of the upper extremities, including shoulder girdle, and lower extremities, excluding pelvis
-Leg-podiatric radiography permit: radiography of the knee, tibia and fibula, and ankle and foot.
-Skull radiography permit: radiography of the bone and soft tissues of the skull and upper neck.
Torso-skeletal radiography permit: radiography of the shoulder girdle, rib cage and sternum, vertebral column, pelvis and hip joints.

Observes established departmental policies and procedures throughout the exam.
Complies with radiation protection requirements and applies all pertinent safety procedures to ensure patient safety throughout the exam process.
Interacts with patient and parent to explain procedure and evaluate patient's needs, taking into consideration their age specific needs.
Adjusts equipment; selects the proper X-Ray exposure factors; places patient in appropriate radiologic positions; supplies devices to lessen discomfort to the patient.
Restricts the field of radiographic exposure to only include the anatomical part or parts being examined.
Makes the necessary exposures to complete the exam.
