As the triage case manager, your role is crucial in providing professional assessment, crisis, counseling, and outreach services to SCAD students. You will also act as a consultant to university faculty and staff and others who have concerns about SCAD students' mental/emotional status. Your evaluations of risk levels for incoming students, identification and tracking of at-risk students, and follow-up consultations are vital in ensuring their well-being. You will be the 'first responder' to students in crisis, making determinations for referral, level of care, and primary modality of treatment. Managing an active caseload of students with counseling needs, attending case conferences, and developing outreach/psychoeducational programs are all part of your impactful responsibilities.
In this role, you will participate in quarterly student organizations; maintain a personal schedule, master schedule, and Titanium computerized schedule; inform your supervisor of personal staff development needs; participate in department performance improvement initiatives; and prepare press releases for supervisor signatures and approvals. You will serve as the Atlanta counseling and student support services (CS3) case manager, updating and maintaining the CS3 database of community providers, providing referrals directly to students and tracking outcomes, helping students understand and access their health insurance, and assisting students with accessing low-cost insurance coverage and community mental health resources.
As the triage case manager, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with various university stakeholders. This aspect of your role is crucial in effectively managing and documenting the Student Concern Alerts (SCA) received by CS3 and serving as the community liaison between CS3 Atlanta and local outpatient facilities. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will also be essential in communicating with CS3 staff and designated emergency contacts regarding significant mental health emergencies, and documenting services in accordance with clinical, ethical, and legal standards of practice. Maintaining accurate and complete client files in a timely manner, and collaborating on departmental projects, outreach, and committees are also part of your responsibilities.
The ideal candidate should be substantially flexible and adaptable to manage the demands of when to refer and assess as the primary clinician. They should also have team skills that will be utilized to collaborate on all treatment decisions for students and be able to provide after-hours crisis response, assessment, on-call, and coordination.

Job Summary
The Case Manager serves as a non-clinical (non-confidential) advocate and case manager for students at GGC. The Case Manager addresses and responds to referrals of concern using good judgment and a high level of care and concern for students. This position reports to the Dean of Students.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and is responsible for reporting crimes and other incidents to the Clery Act Compliance Officer for inclusion in the Annual Campus Security Report in accordance with the Federal Clery Act and GGC policy.
Responsibilities
* Manage a student support caseload of mild to elevated level concerns, providing individualized care, tailored intervention, and consistent follow-up to students, and referring parties; Provide timely and detailed case management reports to the Dean of Students
* Facilitate referrals to on and off campus services for students who face complex, hardship, and/or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., academics, death of loved one, financial, emotional distress, social adjustment, and other related concerns) that could affect their ability to be successful at GGC.
* Provides support to students navigating the hardship withdrawal process and other GGC processes related to enrollment.
* Consult collaboratively with GGC offices and personnel, community organizations, and family members to assist students who experience various concerns that impact their progress and success at GGC. Create and sustain campaign efforts to educate faculty and staff on how to support students of concern, including how and when to make appropriate referrals.
* Deliver proactive messaging and educational outreach to promote student well-being, mental health awareness, academic resources, and academic best practices. Assist with data analysis to identify and assess evolving issues impacting student success and effectiveness of intervention models and resource delivery.
* Meet with students regularly by appointment or drop in to discuss concerns or other student issues. Advise students through the navigation of college processes and procedures.
* Assist with the recruitment, planning, implementation, and assessment of the Student Integrity Board. Assist with the updating and management of Dean of Students Office related websites.
* Provide training to campus community members regarding reporting student concerns and how the campus community can provide student support; Provide advocacy for students, with instructors as appropriate, ensuring their needs are communicated and addressed.
* Supervise interns and graduate students; serve as a backup hearing officer and investigator in the Dean of Students Office; Serve on Dean of Students, Student Affairs, and college-wide committees and task forces. Perform other duties as assigned

What Is the Opportunity?
Under moderate supervision, provide office based telephonic medical case management with emphasis on early intervention, return to work planning, coordination of quality medical care on claims involving disability and medical treatment as well as in-house medical reviews as applicable to claim handling laws and regulations. **Compensation Overview**
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

**What Is the Opportunity?**
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for investigating, evaluating, reserving, negotiating and resolving assigned serious and complex Specialty claims. Provides quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle (customer contacts, coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, litigation management, negotiation and resolution) including maintaining full compliance with internal and external quality standards and state specific regulations. Provides consulting and training and serves as an expert technical resource to other claim professionals, business partners, customers, and other stakeholders as appropriate or required.
**What Will You Do?**
+ CLAIM HANDLING:
+ Directly handle assigned severe claims.
+ Full damage value for average claim (without regard to coverage or liability defenses): $500,000 to several million dollars, amounting to a typical inventory of claims with FDV of over a multi-million dollar value.
+ Provide quality customer service and ensure file quality, timely coverage analysis and communication with insured based on application of policy information to facts or allegations of each case.
+ Work with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel as needed.
+ Directly investigate each claim through prompt and strategically-appropriate contact with appropriate parties such as policyholders, accounts, claimants, law enforcement agencies, witnesses, agents, medical providers and technical experts to determine the extent of liability, damages, and contribution potential.
+ Interview witnesses and stakeholders; take necessary statements, as strategically appropriate.
+ Complete outside investigation as needed per case specifics.
+ Actively engage in the identification, selection and direction of appropriate internal and/or external resources for specific activities required to effectively evaluate claims, such as Subrogation, Risk Control, nurse consultants nurse consultants, and fire or fraud investigators, and other experts.
+ Verify the nature and extent of injury or property damage by obtaining and reviewing appropriate records and damages documentation.
+ Maintain claim files and document claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
+ Develop and employ creative resolution strategies.
+ Responsible for prompt and proper disposition of all claims within delegated authority.
+ Negotiate disposition of claims with insureds and claimants or their legal representatives.
+ Recognize and implement alternate means of resolution.
+ Manages litigated claims. Develop litigation plan with staff or panel counsel, including discovery and legal expenses, to assure effective resolution and to satisfy customers.
+ Utilize evaluation documentation tools in accordance with department guidelines.
+ Proactively review Claim File Analysis (CFA) for adherence to quality standards and trend analysis.
+ Utilize diary management system to ensure that all claims are handled timely. At required time intervals, evaluate liability and damages exposure.
+ Establish and maintain proper indemnity and expense reserves.
+ COMMUNICATIONS/INFLUENCE:
+ Provide guidance to underwriting business partners with respect to accuracy and adequacy of, and potential future changes to, loss reserves on assigned claims.
+ Recommend appropriate cases for discussion at roundtable.
+ Attend and/or present at roundtables/ authority discussions for collaboration of technical expertise resulting in improved payout on indemnity and expense.
+ Actively and enthusiastically share experience and knowledge of creative resolution techniques to improve the claim results of others.
+ Apply the Company's claim quality management protocols, and metrics to all claims; document the rationale for any departure from applicable protocols and metrics with or without assistance.
+ OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES:
+ Apply litigation management through the selection of counsel, evaluation.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

**What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?**
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred.
+ 10+ years claim handling experience with 5-7 years experience handling serious injury and complex liability claims preferred.
+ Extensive working level knowledge and skill in various business line products.
+ Excellent negotiation and customer service skills.
+ Advanced skills in coverage, liability and damages analysis with expert understanding of the litigation process in both state and federal courts, including relevant case and statutory law and procedure; expert litigation management skills.
+ Extensive claim and/or legal experience and thus the technical expertise to evaluate severe and complex claims.
+ Able to make independent decisions on most assigned cases without involvement of supervisor.
+ Openness to the ideas and expertise of others and actively solicits input and shares ideas.
+ Thorough understanding of commercial lines products, policy language, exclusions, ISO forms and effective claims handling practices.
+ Demonstrated strong coaching, influence and persuasion skills.
+ Advanced written and verbal communication skills are required so as to understand, synthesize, interpret and convey, in a simplified manner, complex data and information to audiences with varying levels of expertise.

**What is a Must Have?**
+ 10+ years claim handling experience or related experience with 3-5 years experience handling serious injury and complex liability claims. High School Degree or GED required; In order to perform the essential job functions of this job, acquisition and maintenance of Property/Causalty Adjuster License(s) may be required to comply with state and Travelers requirements. Generally, license(s) are required to be obtained within three months of starting the job.
