What is a case coordinator and how to become one
As a case coordinator, you will meet with foster parents to discuss where the referral can be potentially placed. You'll organize home visits for the child with all parties. You'll relate all relevant issues about the child with all involved parties, including foster parents, school officials, placing agencies, and the like. Your work must be according to established policy and regulations. Asides from that, you'll assist with enrolling the child in school and attend individualized education plan meetings. Additionally, you'll regularly record home visits, support sessions, and discussions with involved parties.
Employers prefer applicants with a bachelor's or master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. You must also have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience. You must possess communication, attention to detail, organization, time management, and multitasking skills. Case coordinators make an average salary of $42,305 per year.
