Job Summary
The Field Engineer, Positive Train Control (PTC) is responsible for providing support, testing, training, and project designing, as well as for the implementation and documentation of associated CN rail signalling and PTC systems. The role includes installing and configuring laboratory devices and testing per specific and documented sets of test cases. In addition, the incumbent reviews and provides guidance on new equipment designs and architectures for the Signals and Communications (S&C) portfolio. Moreover, the incumbent supports and works with the S&C Quality Assurance and Design groups on implementing and testing field control points as well as supporting any ongoing incident or reliability investigations. The role is accountable for coordinating with S&C standards and Information and Technology (I&T) partners as well as ensuring that the necessary technical systems are implemented and maintained in a manner that support all aspects of the S&C operation forces in both the office and the field.

Salary Range: $85k to $115k
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Previous experience with electrical utilities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Knowledge of renewable energy, distributed energy resources, electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems, and the evolving industry is desirable.
· Ability to engage in NERC operations and planning compliance activities.
· Willingness to attend continuing education courses, complete certifications, and participate in meetings and training sessions, both online and out-of-town, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of member programs, including electric vehicles, time-of-use, interruptible loads, distributed energy resources, and demand side management.
Assist with wholesale electric utility billing and related settlements.
Configure and maintain the MV-90 meter data management system.
Assist with cost-of-service studies, load forecasting, electric system planning, and operations.
Provide SCADA system support.
