The perfect person for this job is a team player who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced yet supported environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of teamwork, the ability to work independently on assignments, handle multiple projects at one time while remaining flexible, and working within tight deadlines. Carpenter job duties/responsibilities include constructing and maintaining safety handrails and hole protection, steps and gang ladders, temporary weather enclosures and protection. Also does sawing, stripping, nailing, burning, measuring, tightening/loosening bolts, drilling & other duties as assigned by supervisor. Ideal candidates for this position will possess 3 years of construction experience and must be able to read basic drawings and have training on construction safety protocols (i.e. OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform (boom and scissor)). This position will provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues. A high school diploma or GED are a plus as well as strong time management skills. Qualified Candidates for the positions listed above must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects, work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, have the ability to see & hear well either naturally or with correction. Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50-100 lbs., 75% of the time. The Head Carpenter supports Silva and Soreng productions with participation in advance duties and productions.
