Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Lead Carpenter at Hanes Construction, Inc., located in Napa, CA. The Lead Carpenter will be responsible for overseeing and managing carpentry projects, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Laborer will report directly to the General Superintendent. This position is Nonexempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Core Responsibilities
Maintain site cleanliness.
Install and maintain barricades and protection.
Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
Enforce site safety policies.
Maintain positive relationship with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other employees.
Self-perform minor scopes of work.
Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding and ceiling tiles
Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials
Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
Core Competencies
Must have clean driving record.
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Must have Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
Must be proficient in English.
Physical Demands: Performance of the duties will occasionally require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly work on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
