• Employees are expected to use equipment to manufacturer and University standards and to comply with University and OSHA policies and regulations.

Carpenter Senior
The Carpenter Senior position works on the Construction Crew for the buildings on the Capitol Complex Campus. This position performs skilled carpentry and concrete work for projects and repairs.
Plans, selects materials, lays out and constructs partitions, walls, ceilings, paneling, platforms, doors, window frames, and installs hardware, hinges, handles, locks, hasps, venetian blinds, etc., as specified by request for agencies or as required by repairs or renovation on the Capitol Complex Buildings. This position also alters, repairs and renovates buildings and rooms by removing partitions, doors, door frames and wainscoting.
Plans, selects materials, lays out and constructs projects, such as bookcases, lockers, desks, cabinets, etc., as requested by agencies and required by Facilities Management.
Plans, selects materials, lays out and installs vinyl flooring, hangs traverse rods, makes up forms for concrete work, replaces stair treads, performs renovation of wainscoting, doors and hinges in the Statehouse which must be maintained according to requirement of a building on the National Historic Register.
Maintain power and hand tools, sharpens saw blades and chisels, maintains material storage racks and assigns and reviews work of semi-skilled or unskilled helpers and performs related work as required. Performs other work as required to assume client agency needs are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience as a carpenter. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor such as lifting, pushing and pulling to move equipment. Must be able to climb ladders and work from scaffolding and ladders. Must have a valid driver's license.
