Job Overview:
The Shipping loading and Carpenter is responsible for package or skid all units, parts, materials, and other miscellaneous shipment items as required, including export shipments. Collective Bargaining Agreement language applies to this position.
Responsibilities:
• Package or skid all units, parts, materials, and other miscellaneous shipment items as required, including export shipments. Load trucks for shipment and unload shipping supplies. Makes out packing list and requests material from stock for repair and other similar orders.
• Checks all serial numbers on units, gear boxes, motors, records information, files test cards, and completes all Production, Quality, and EHS documentation. Perform various quality check-outs as required to ensure customer satisfaction of the product.
• Packs parcel post and express if in cardboard or similar container, cuts stencil, stencils shipments, and works with Materials group and Order Entry to handle requests.
• Perform corrections such as paint touch-up, tightening bolts, rust removal, name and information plate changing, oil draining, part cleaning, deburring, changing or replacing oil sight glasses and oil level plugs, masking and prepping units for paint, loading and unloading paint line, etc. and other incidental duties of the classification.
• Operates gas and battery-powered equipment, or a handcart to transport or position materials, parts, supplies, units, etc. Charges batteries and exchanges propane tanks to maintain equipment usability. Operates cranes equipped with a pendant or radio control. Determines proper rigging for crane lifts and assists where required by load or shape.
