Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
Lay out flooring, roofing or drywall ensuring they are leveled and compatible
Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
Build scaffolding and other construction structures
Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.
Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings.
This position also requires strict adherence to safe work practices, including keeping the work area free of debris and other safety hazards.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: Five (5) years fixture installation and retail or commercial finish carpentry experience. One (1) year minimum supervisory experience.
Certification(s): OSHA10 or 30, Forklift, aerial lift (Company will provide if necessary).
Technology: Able to download and use APPS on phone and mobile devices. Able to make electronic submissions though company portal.

A Finish Carpenter at Shiel Sexton performs commercial and industrial construction and remodeling, interior systems, interior and exterior finish, blueprint reading, scaffolding, and safety with a strong focus on Millwork Installation, Doors & Hardware, and Bathroom Accessories.
Role Expectations and Competencies
Completes tasks with a high attention to detail.

Assures that the Carpentry crew acts with integrity and employs ethical behavior and practices.
Ability to effectively communicate through verbal communication.
Layout including building lines, elevations, wall, and partition layout.
Safety minded working with scaffold systems, shoring, weather protection and installation of fall protection systems.
Able to read physical blueprints as well as digital (Procore experience preferred.)
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of carpentry experience, commercial experience preferred.
Preferred OSHA 10 certification, construction specific
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen
