    Reports to: Carpenter Foreman and Superintendent. FLSA: Not Exempt The Carpenter Apprentice is responsible for on-site execution of all assigned tasks. Through daily coordination with the Carpenter Foreman and/or Superintendent, the carpenter will track and complete tasks in order to facilitate the needs of the project team and schedule. They will assist the project team in the field to maintain layout control as well as JHL's safety and quality programs. The Carpenter Apprentice will be a key player in training and instructing JHL apprentice carpenters and laborers for efficient and quality work in addition to the development of skills. He/she will have direct authority over on-site JHL craft in the absence of a carpenter or foreman. The Carpenter Apprentice will coordinate with the Carpenter, Carpenter Foreman, and/or Superintendent on prioritization of craft task, and on all decisions related to or direction regarding subcontractors. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Core Duties / Responsibilities: * Assisting in building layout * Erecting temporary walkways, and ramps, and scaffolding * Setting forms for concrete * Layout and installation of embeds * Layout and installation of reinforcing steel * Place and finish concrete * Hanging doors and installing hardware * Trim and finish carpentry * Installing wood and metal blocking * Other duties as assigned. Education / Experience/ Training: * Preferred: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent * Must be enrolled in CITC (or equivalent) apprenticeship training or otherwise demonstrated substantial industry experience and proficiency. o 1-2 years required for Carpenter Apprentice 1 * Maintain OSHA 10 (minimum) and recommended refresher training. * Obtain as required - project specific and equipment operation safety training. This position works independently with minimal direction and embodies our client first and safety conscience culture. This is a TRAVELING position as we work in 50 States. Requirements Responsibilities & Duties: · Complete onsite millwork, cabinet and countertop, retail fixtures, and graphic installs in retail and commercial environments · Represent the company in a professional manner at all times. Adopt and embrace our company Core Values · Submit paperwork: time sheets, expense reports, daily reports as required · Ability to Lead projects is a plus and offers additional compensation Required Skills · Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or in a group environment · Knowledge of woodworking hand and power tools as well as plumb, level and square. · Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings · Proficient use of a laser level · Able to install cabinets and counters · Able to install running trim: base, chair rail, door and window casing, crown molding · Must be able to Scribe trims and filler panels as necessary · Able to install wall panel systems · Must have a strong commitment to job site safety including maintaining a clean jobsite at all times Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent 5+ Year's finish carpentry preferred Osha 10 or 30, Forklift Certification, Aerial Lift Certification (company will provide as needed) Ability to download and use Apps on phone or mobile devices; able to make electronic submissions through company intranet Physical Demands: · Walk and stand for lengthy periods of time · Ability to climb ladders, work from an aerial lift · Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, and crawling · Work with materials over your head for short periods of time · Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more Conditions of Employment: · Able to pass a DRUG SCREENING and CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK · Able to pass an MVR (motor vehicle report) screening for approved driving status · Must complete Company Sponsored CPR/First Aid training online · Able to work overtime as needed (typical work week is 40 to 60 hours) · If hired as a traveling carpenter, able to travel for durations up to 3 to 6 weeks · Must provide own cordless drill and hand tools Core Equipment: Cordless drill and impact set, laser level, traveling toolbox and bag, chisels, speed square, torpedo level, chalk line, claw hammer, mallet, multi tip bits, screwdrivers, socket sets, pliers, clamps, tape measure, pry bar, carpenter pencils and utility knife Salary Description $25.00 to $35.00 hourly based on experience
