Responsibilities
Performs engineering work in various engineering fields within the Environmental Practice for Water and Wastewater Treatment and Infrastructure Practice such as pipelines, pump stations and reservoirs
Works on engineering designs, prepare reports, develop plans, prepare specifications, and cost estimates for various water and wastewater infrastructure projects, permitting and alternative analysis
Prepares technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables; data entry and analysis, and working through the construction phase on the projects
Plans, schedules, and conducts engineering work on projects of medium to large sizes of moderately complex nature
Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to civil/environmental engineering field
Responsible for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
Responsible for training and monitoring internal staff
Responsible for acting independently and making authoritative decisions on technical matters
Develops significant relationships with new and existing clients and has responsibility for client maintenance
Supports firm's relationships with client management personnel
Active in professional associations, including participation at local, state and national levels
including attendance and participation in local, regional, and national conventions
Travel required when requested
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering
10-15 years of wastewater design experience in the field of environmental consulting engineering with an emphasis in hydraulics, physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes and treatment plant design
Registration as a Professional Engineer
Must have demonstrated experience with managing and designing medium sized projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
Experience designing wastewater treatment plants, including development of conceptual/preliminary designs and detailed design document preparation
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
Deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints
Experience working with water and wastewater facilities, wastewater collection systems and water and reclaimed water transmission/distribution projects
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering

About the Role
MWH is currently seeking a qualified Administrative Assistant to support project work group in Henderson, NV.
Essential Functions
Schedule appointments; update calendars; assist with travel arrangements.
Schedule meetings, coordinate meetings; prepare draft-meeting minutes.
Represent the company for reception including answering phones and greeting visitors.
Administer site badging and meet with or direct visitors to assist in getting the visitor to the appropriate site location
Provide information by answering questions and requests.

Set up and maintain files

Interface and maintain liaison with program and project management, stakeholders, client, contractors, and other consultants on program and project administrative activities.
Participate actively with other administrative support staff in assisting other teams, within and external to the project, as needed.
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Plan/coordinate on- and off-site catering and employee events.
Work in a manner to ensure personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
Various other administrative duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing administrative support.
High School diploma or equivalent.

+ Good communication skills and interest in engaging with Clients to grow relationships
+ Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards
+ Working knowledge of interdisciplinary project coordination: procurement, subcontract administration, permitting, real estate and land acquisition, and construction support
+ Working knowledge of the proposal process and developing engineering estimates

Job Expectations:
In this technical role, you will be preparing engineering drawings, calculations, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and technical reports for a variety of municipal water and wastewater projects as part of the Brown and Caldwell Design Services group. You will be expected to manage design tasks as a process mechanical task lead on small to midsize projects with support from Brown and Caldwell's subject matter experts. You will also be given the chance to mentor less experienced junior and entry level engineers. Other responsibilities for this position include occasional site visits during various project phases that may include tasks such as equipment evaluation, process testing and troubleshooting, construction inspection and observations, and other types of field work. You will support projects both locally and nationally, but with a focus on Brown and Caldwell's western business region.
Responsibilities:
* Execute engineering work, such as drawings, specifications, P&IDs, calculations, technical reports, and equipment selection for water and environmental projects, including wastewater treatment, water treatment, advanced treatment, and pumping and conveyance.
* Preparing Contract Drawings and Specifications for a variety of water or wastewater projects.
* Lead process mechanical design effort for a portion of, or entire facility with guidance from BC's subject matter experts (depending on experience)
* Coordinate detailed design sketches with BC designers to produce BIM model and Contract Drawings.
* Coordinate with other disciplines to complete design, including interacting with teaming partners.
* Mentor junior and entry level engineers.
* Prepare or assist with the writing of technical memoranda and reports (depending on experience).
* Assist or lead studies or alternatives analyses (depending on experience).
* Assist in preparing proposals.
* Perform submittal reviews, respond to requests for information, and other construction related office engineering work.
* Check performance and/or conformity with design drawings and specifications through construction site visits and testing during construction.
* Duties may also include occasional field activities such as site investigations, data collection, compilation, analysis, and documentation; these activities may require occasional travel to project sites that are not local to your home office.
* Regularly seek out guidance and implement feedback received from peers and BC's subject matter experts.
Required Skills and Experience:
* B.S. degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering; M.S. degree preferred
* PE in Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil disciplines.
* Experience designing water and wastewater projects and preparing construction documents including drawings, P&IDs, specifications, control narratives, technical memoranda, etc. is required
* Minimum 10 years of similar experience required; 11 to 15 years of increasing responsibility in related experience preferred
* Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems
* Strong written and verbal communication skills essential
* Task design lead experience is required
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Access, Outlook, etc.) required
* Experience performing engineering calculations using computer software (Excel, Mathcad, etc.) is required
* Experience writing and editing equipment and piping specifications is required
* Experience with AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom is preferred
* Valid driver's license and good driving record is preferred
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
