About the role - Reporting to the Director of Operations in the Operations Department, a Training Captain is responsible for following strict corporate guidelines to train and certify members to operate a Freedom Boat club boat safely, anywhere in the county. This position has the ability for advancement / promotion in to a Full Time year round Training Manager role. Responsibilities · Manage the training calendar.· Ensure you are instructing using corporate and USCG guidelines.· Read and understand training policies.· Contact members with reminders, document attempts.· Deliver weekly classroom session to members (as necessary) · Train new members and complete check in/out.· Documenting all lessons and training classes. · Be an expert in small boat handling.· Conducting vessel inspections prior to use.· Certifying or recommending retraining.· Conducting special training for members after incidents.· Train staff on boat handling and assist dock staff as needed.
