ABOUT THE POSITION:
Brooklyn Grange, the world's leading soil-based rooftop farming business, is seeking a positive, motivated, people-oriented Event Captain to successfully manage existing client relationships and execute programming and events on our rooftops in Brooklyn, NY. Events range from weddings, to dinner parties, to media launches, to company retreats, to educational panels and workshops, and other programs. Programming and events typically take place all through the week, including many evenings and weekends; though Event Captains' schedules may vary from week to week. Weekend and late-night availability is required of this position.
The Event Captain will work closely with the Private Events Managers and Events Operations Coordinator to receive information for booked upcoming events and other programming. Responsibilities will include managing client and vendor relations via email, calls and in person walkthroughs, communicating Brooklyn Grange policies and procedures, and leading successful day-of event execution. Event Captains should demonstrate professionalism via email, have a sense of urgency to respond to emails in a timely manner, and be able to manage their time being onsite at events/programs.
Event Captains will manage the onsite day-of Events Crew and event logistics. They will be responsible for training Events Crew members on these logistics, on setup and breakdown responsibilities, and on event execution. SCHEDULE:
