ABOUT THE POSITION:
Brooklyn Grange, the world's leading soil-based rooftop farming business, is seeking a positive, motivated, people-oriented Event Captain to successfully manage existing client relationships and execute programming and events on our rooftops in Brooklyn, NY. Events range from weddings, to dinner parties, to media launches, to company retreats, to educational panels and workshops, and other programs. Programming and events typically take place all through the week, including many evenings and weekends; though Event Captains' schedules may vary from week to week. Weekend and late-night availability is required of this position.
The Event Captain will work closely with the Private Events Managers and Events Operations Coordinator to receive information for booked upcoming events and other programming. Responsibilities will include managing client and vendor relations via email, calls and in person walkthroughs, communicating Brooklyn Grange policies and procedures, and leading successful day-of event execution. Event Captains should demonstrate professionalism via email, have a sense of urgency to respond to emails in a timely manner, and be able to manage their time being onsite at events/programs.
Event Captains will manage the onsite day-of Events Crew and event logistics. They will be responsible for training Events Crew members on these logistics, on setup and breakdown responsibilities, and on event execution. Event Captains should be personable, excellent communicators, who can comfortably oversee the many details of programs & events and think proactively about next steps. SCHEDULE:

When assigned to a flight, the captain has the final authority in the operation of the aircraft. **Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Acting as pilot in command (PIC) of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled
+ Providing excellent customer service to passengers

+ Making decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate
**Captain Qualifications/Experience:**
+ A minimum of two (2) years college; Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
+ Flight training received through an FAA approved school or training program.
+ Two (2) years of recent experience as a pilot in Corporate Aviation.
+ A minimum of 5,000 hours total flight time with 3,000 hours as PIC, and preferably a minimum of 1500 hours in turbine powered aircraft.
+ Flight experience in Falcon 7X or 8X preferred
+ FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating with appropriate aircraft and type ratings.
+ FAA 1st class medical certificate.
+ International flight experience preferred
+ FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
