JOB PURPOSE: The Service Captain serves as a team lead for the banquet service staff to ensure high-quality execution of large receptions and events involving food service; he or she also serves as a liaison between the banquet service staff and the kitchen staff and otherwise assists in management operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Resolves guests' concerns, inquiries, and complaints • Lead banquet service team by training, coaching, delegating, and setting a standard of excellence. • Assist with food and table prep before the event begins. • Set up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling performance. • Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers and other needs. • Communicate with manager as well as other servers and event organizers. • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. • Open wine and take drink orders. • Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks. • Assists with bartending when necessary.

Training & Advancement Those entering aviation programs must first attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI, and then complete a six-week air indoctrination course at Naval Aviation Schools Command, in Pensacola, FL. From there, prospective Fighter Pilots attend primary flight training. Candidates then request an aircraft pipeline and enter the intermediate phase of flight training, which builds upon basic flight and navigation training. The final phase is advanced naval flight training, focusing on mission specifics. After completion, prospective Fighter Pilots are awarded their "wings of gold" and report to their respective Fleet Replacement Squadrons (FRSs) for further training specific to their aircraft. Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.
