* Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the equipment operated, FARs governing the operation of equipment, and manuals, policies, procedures, and other instructions.
* Notifies crew and passengers of turbulent weather conditions or any other operational factors affecting the flight.
* Completes the load manifest for each flight.
* Contributes to a reliable and on-time operation by assisting the Captain in meeting all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
* While at the terminal, assists with and ensures proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo.
* Maintains regular and reliable attendance according to Company procedures and practices.
* Presents a professional appearance and adheres to the Company uniform dress code.
* Conducts self professionally at all times while on duty and observes the Rules of Conduct for all associates as outlined in the Flight Operations Manual, Associate Handbook and other related policies and procedures.
* Continues professional training towards upgrading performance and abilities.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the Company and the Captain.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* High School diploma or GED.
* Must meet the minimum requirements for an ATP or RATP certificate.
* ATP written is preferred.
* Meet the current interview and hiring minimum age and flight hours requirements set by the FAA and Company.

Must have a valid Government ID - State of Ohio Driver's License or State ID. (The Diploma or GED as well as the Driver's License are not required for those persons under the age of 18 who are hired as Seasonal Lifeguards.)
Supplemental Information
Duties:
Ensure the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies in variety of settings.
Administer First Aid/CPR/AED in cases of emergency.
Adhere to aquatic as well as City of Cleveland rules and regulations as related to the functional areas of Responsibility.

Essential Job Functions
* Receives all incoming telephone inquiries for critical care assistance regarding patient transport in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
* Maintains professional radio and phone communication utilizing excellent customer service skills when interacting with administration, transport teams, requesting agencies, hospital staff, physicians, and public safety personnel.
* Triages all requests for transport and accurately enters all required information into the Computer-Aided Dispatch System.
* Maintains all required records and other documentation associated with patient transport and/or the operation of the Communication Center. Ensures all billing paperwork is completed accurately.
* Maintains updated knowledge of all communications equipment to operate and request service calls when appropriate and ensure intelligent reporting of equipment failures.
* Activates transport teams and accurately relays information concerning the location and condition of the patient, when possible. Initiates appropriate protocols regarding notification and determination of patient destination.
* Maintains knowledge of the Mercy Health - Life Flight Network Emergency Response Plan. Participates in quality management, emergency-procedure testing, and annual Emergency Response Plan drills.
* Demonstrates a working knowledge of all policies, procedures and protocols for operation of Mercy Health - Life Flight Network program and regulated transport activities. Has a functional understanding of state and local EMS regulations, local EMS structure, and protocol and procedures in service area.

This is a highly responsible position in the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. The employee is expected to perform all duties to the best of their ability, act in a responsible manner at all times, demonstrate leadership qualities, and treat all staff, youth, and persons with respect. * Supervises all custodial security staff on an assigned shift in a juvenile detention facility.
* Supervises assigned security staff during shift and coordinates staff schedules; monitors performance and ensures policies and procedures are carried out.
* Monitors juveniles' behavior and recommends alternative behavior plans. Reports, documents and uplines unusual events and behaviors to management.

* Attends staff meetings, case conferences and trainings as required; ensures proper subordinate training.

This position is deemed essential and has been designated for mandatory operations by the Appointing Authority; therefore, the incumbent is not eligible for Adverse Weather Leave.
May be required to work overtime and any shift as needed and directed.
Required to successfully complete the Department of Juvenile Justice Training Academy; which entails two weeks on the job training, four weeks virtual training, and one week ACT (Aikido Certified Training) at the academy training location (Louisville, Kentucky). Overnight lodging and travel is required for the ACT and provided by the department.
This position has an approved Locality Premium of $5.228, based on the organizational structure and work county it is currently assigned to, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).
This job classification is approved for the following shift premiums, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(2), which are applied to the base salary:

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.

At least one year of the experience must have been in a supervisory capacity in a custodial security setting.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: An associate's degree from a college or university in corrections, criminal justice, law enforcement or a related field will substitute for six months of the required non-supervisory experience. A bachelor's degree from a college or university in corrections, criminal justice, law enforcement or a related field will substitute for one year of the required non-supervisory experience. For the Department of Juvenile Justice, successful completion of the Department of Juvenile Justice Training Academy or equivalent training program approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Juvenile Justice will substitute for one year of the required experience.
