Teamwork and close collaboration with the Project Designer, Project Manager, Technical Director, and the entire design team are key to delivering successful, detail-oriented projects. In this role, you will review code compliance, conduct site surveys, coordinate design development, manage construction documents, and administer the construction process, including site observation. You will work independently and with a team on multiple small and mid-size projects, as well as with a Senior Job Captain on large-scale interior workplace projects. Your responsibilities include: Documentation and Coordination Leadership: Execution of great design, understanding the project vision and bringing creative design and construction solutions to the team. Coordinate with design team, general contractors and project managers to align budgets and timelines. During the initial design phases, perform field surveys, including code and accessibility review and analysis, and update record drawings to use by the design team throughout the project. Develop solutions, details and specifications for technically complex interiors and building renovation projects. Organize, develop and coordinate SD, DD and CD drawing sets with designers, consultants, engineers, and client vendors while maintaining construction documentation standards. Conduct materials and specifications research to accurately detail the project, coordinating with design team and consultants. Attends jobsite meetings, issues supplemental instructions and RFI responses, processes submittals and shop drawing review during Construction Administration. Reviews General Contractor change orders for conformance with the changes to the scope of work. Reviews General Contractor pay applications for adherence to observation of conditions and completed work by the General Contractor during periotic site reviews. Technical Expertise: Utilize REVIT skills and knowledge of construction and detailing to efficiently produce contract documents, ensuring compliance with codes and constructability. Review work by the team, performing markups and redlines and coordinate QA review. Awareness and integration of sustainability, wellness, and equity concepts in design solutions Performs work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Software Skills: Effectively use Revit, AutoCAD and other digital tools & software to efficiently develop construction documentation. Utilize Construction Administration software, such as Procore, to process RFIs and submittals. If you're an enthusiastic team player who thrives in an environment where communication, creativity, and cooperation are encouraged, this may just be the opportunity for you Under the supervision of the Director of Marine Operations, the Port Captain is responsible for ensuring vessels meet regulatory and safety standards and works with crews to identify, report, and correct any material deficiencies. Ensures all vessels are prepared for inspections. Works with Engineering Department to inspect facilities to ensure they are in safe working order. The Port Captain will support the management team and various internal departments as required. The Port Captain applies their significant maritime expertise towards the safe operation of all fleet vessels and services to include keeping up with industry trends and communicating with port partners for any area maritime projects and issues that have the potential to impact City Cruises vessel services. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Essential Functions: * Works with crews to identify and correct discrepancies to ensure our vessels always meet regulatory and safety requirements. * Attention to customer service and guest satisfaction while providing exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in our RESPECT Service System * Holds Captains accountable for pre-cruise preparation, adherence to cruise scripts, supervision of crew, proper navigation of the vessel, adherence to all Coast Guard rules and regulations, and guest satisfaction. * Supports the execution of the Safe Cruise Program on board vessels assigned, including emergency drills and Incident Report processing. * Conducts vessel and facility inspections to ensure safe operations and working conditions. * Works with Director of Marine Operations to develop all Marine budgets according to company guidelines * Directs vessel navigation system maintenance and functionality of all bridge equipment. Ensures the proper documentation of maintenance of all ship's navigation, communications, and bridge systems in the Maintenance Management System * Ensures adherence to Coast Guard, other federal and local rules and regulations. Works and develops all Coast Guard vessel inspections updating policies and procedures to keep all vessels assigned in compliance with federal regulations. This would include the time resolution of all open discrepancies (CG-835 items and worklist) * Maintains close liaison between the Operations Department and other departments * Ongoing crew management, training & drilling adhering to all applicable United States Coast Guard, Federal and State laws, in addition to those required by company policies and procedures * Maintain and track non-conformities of regulatory compliance and see to timely close out and completion * Lead cultural change within the business to ensure continuous improvement * Audit company facilities and workforce in assigned areas for safety of passengers and crew * Implement and maintain programs, policies, and procedures to ensure full compliance with company, client, and governmental requirements * Assist in the identification, analysis, and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of professional knowledge, skills, or abilities * Act as an advisor for all health and safety initiatives revolving around ferry vessels, passenger vessels, and dinner vessels. * Dock and Vessel inspections. Make reports available. * Company Representative at USCG COI and Drydock inspections * Lead vessel crew in COI to ensure vessels are COI ready * Vessel Safety Meetings with crews to get input from crews * Investigate vessel incidents and accidents and OSHA reportable incidents. * Conduct visual health & safety, security, HAZCOM inspections on board vessels, in warehouse areas, piers/docks, and other areas as identified * Ensuring all vessel documentation is updated and compliant * Ability to perform Core Competency Training * Exceptional communication skills are essential * Additional job duties as assigned. The Boat Captain (BC) is responsible for the management, coordination, and overall service experience of the Martis Camp Boat. The BC will relentlessly pursue the delivery of the Martis Camp experience in one of the world's great boating environments, providing our members and their guests with an extraordinary Lake Tahoe boating experience through personalized proactive hospitality, comprehensive daily preparation, complete boat safety, cleanliness and repair and comprehensive lake and nautical knowledge. The Martis Camp Boat Captain will report to the Beach Shack Manager. The Boat Captain will fulfill operational responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable Federal, State, and Maritime laws and regulations. Responsibilities include planning, seasonal set-up and winterization, regular maintenance scheduling. The BC will operate within the boundaries of the yearly schedule, budget, and Club Rules, under the direction of the Beach Shack Manager and in accordance with the Club Vision, Mission, Goals, and service standards. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop a superior service attitude and presentation, with an understanding that positive interaction, a “can do” attitude, and anticipating the needs of the Members and their guests is a guiding philosophy. Provide directions to other boat captains. Maintain an accurate log of dockhand gratuities to assist in accurate, timely re-filling of boats kitty for non-Marina gratuities. Marina gratuities to be added to refueling bills. Re-confirm all reservations at least 24 hours in advance via phone, email, or text to ensure the boat is appropriately provisioned per Member requests. Ensure an exceptionally well-maintained club boat, keeping all service up to date, including seasonal service and repairs/all licenses and fees. Monitor all refueling and provision additional supplies as needed with Marina & BS Management. Perform pre/post-trip safety inspections to ensure the safest and highest quality boat experience. The safety of our Ambassadors, the Membership and their guests is our highest priority. Ensure the boat is spotlessly clean before every trip, performing an interior and exterior inspection before every trip. Ensure the dock conditions are as safe and appropriately clean as possible. Ensure the boat is operated in compliance with all local, State, Federal, and maritime regulations. The Club boat is a member amenity. Any usage of the boat, other than by chartered Members must be pre-approved by the COO. Maintain a Policies and Procedures Manual for the service standards and training of fellow captains. Perform emergency duties in the event of a fire, accident, or other disasters. Perform all administrative duties in a timely manner, delivering all reports including daily billing, invoices, expenses, variance reports, payroll, and other such items ahead of scheduled submission times. Develop strong, positive communication skills and a cooperative working environment for all staff members keeping all captains and the Beach Shack Management well informed of work schedules and scheduled trips. Guide members in their trip decisions based on weather, lake conditions, and available time Maintain high ethical and moral standards that are reflected in working with the boat team and interactions with the members. Maintain a positive and proactive working relationship with the North Lake Tahoe Marina to ensure impeccable boat condition at all times. Coordinate the delivery of Member F&B requests to the BS Management Team to ensure that the boat is appropriately stocked Maintain all safety equipment in ready condition at all times Notify BS Management in a timely fashion of any Boat Needs, whether for upkeep/cleanliness, Safety, Regularly requested Member needs, or F+B provisions. Maintain the boat in a state of full readiness at all times Notify BS Management in a timely fashion of any Boat Repairs needed so an open line of communication can be used between BS Mngt./Captain/Marina & Membership in an effort to reduce Trip interruption as much as possible. Maintain constant awareness of weather conditions notifying members of potential cancellations in advance. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to interact and develop positive relationships within the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective listening, interpersonal, and guest service skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Maintain high ethical and moral standards. Bilingual preferred (English / Spanish) Ability to work with little supervision. Ability to prioritize, multi-task and complete assignments within various time constraints. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES: Must maintain current USCG, 25/50 or 100 Ton approved Maritime Captain's License Must maintain a clean driver's license Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification Must be proficient in the use of an AED from the above training (kept on board) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift and carry weights up to 60lbs, and to assist adults and small children on and off the boat Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, sitting, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and accessing small spaces on the boat Ability to swim Ability to communicate effectively and take a commanding presence to ensure the safety of all passengers and property Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends.
