This includes working from carrier battle groups, or other sea-based platforms, and at Naval Air Stations or other locations on shore. Training & Advancement Those entering aviation programs must first attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI, and then complete a six-week air indoctrination course at Naval Aviation Schools Command, in Pensacola, FL. From there, prospective Fighter Pilots attend primary flight training. Candidates then request an aircraft pipeline and enter the intermediate phase of flight training, which builds upon basic flight and navigation training. The final phase is advanced naval flight training, focusing on mission specifics. After completion, prospective Fighter Pilots are awarded their "wings of gold" and report to their respective Fleet Replacement Squadrons (FRSs) for further training specific to their aircraft. Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance. Post-Service Opportunities Specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields in the civilian sector. Education Opportunities Following your initial flying tour as a Fighter Pilot you can attend the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, CA, where you may be able to earn a master's or doctoral degree while being paid full-time.     **Hotel:** Des Moines Sheraton 1800 50th Street West Des Moines, IA 50266 Banquet Captain Full time **Atrium SPIRIT - where teamwork, passion and appreciation ignite service excellence** **Profile:** Telecommute: No Bonus Eligible: No Direct Reports: No Reports To: Banquet Manager or All Purpose Manager Equipment: Uniform **Wage** **-$18.38 w/ experience** **Hours-** **2pm-10 must have weekend availability as well** **Primary Purpose:** The primary purpose of the Banquet Captain is to provide guests with an excellent banquet experience, by planning and implementing the serving details for the event. **Work Performed:** The Banquet Captain will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments: + Directs setting up for tables correctly and uniformly in assigned areausingclean pressed linen, clean unspotted silverware, clean china with no chips or cracks, clean unspottedglassware; + Confirm the table complements (salt, pepper, sugar, breadbaskets, etc.) have been properly cleaned andfilled; + Plans the serving order and orchestrates its completion in a timely, quiet and courteousmanner; + Ensures the servers are ready to serve the meal when itsprepared; + Set-ups, serves and/or breaks down coffee breaks, receptions, other special functions asassigned; + Maintain communication with the guest contact person for guestneeds; + Set-up, operate and dismantle audio-visualequipment; + Be familiar with and maintain knowledge of maintenance and usage of all Audio-Visualequipment; + Ableto perform job of Banquet Associate and BanquetBartender; + Able to understand departmental forecasting to ensure appropriate staffinglevels; + Assist Banquet Manager or All PurposeManager with scheduling, training staff, and inventory; + Ensures service standards are being followed and takes corrective action when they arenot; + Guide, direct, and motivate banquetstaff; + Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents,injuriesand unsafe work conditions to management;and + Any and allother work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position. **Qualifications:** **Required Prior Experience:** Previous customer service experience Six months of banquet food service experience **Preferred Prior Experience:** Prior leadership experience **Preferred Education:** High School diploma or equivalent **Required Licenses/ Certification:** Food Safety certificate or complete training during initial 90 days. Alcohol certification or complete training during initial 90 days. **Physical:** Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend and squat repeatedly.
