Job Purpose:
The Strategic Procurement Specialist through theme execution/implementation, strategic management and stakeholder alignment is responsible to bring spend within their category under procurement management. Additionally, she/he will regularly engage with the business stakeholder community, lead strategies to achieve optimal cost reduction, and ensure the management of supplier relationships and risk. Key Accountabilities:
Manage Supplier Performance/Development/Risk/Support Segmentation
Execute the Strategic Sourcing Function in Alignment with Category
Meet category SEQCDM performance targets and measures, monitor progress, and implement countermeasures when necessary
Responsible for project implementation and oversight of projects and business plan items, monitors progress and adjusts direction as needed
Share ideas, negotiate, collaborate, and build consensus across North America sites
Apply key customer (upstream, downstream, and end-user) viewpoint in all category activities

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience
A minimum of 2-6 years of experience in either a Purchasing, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related role or in a field where job knowledge & skills are applicable based on education

Job Description:
As the Strategic Buyer for Chemicals, Packaging, Aerosols, Accessories, and MRO, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement strategy and execution across several critical commodity groups. Your primary objective will be to ensure a consistent and cost-effective supply chain that supports our manufacturing and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, including but not limited to Chemicals, Containers, Packaging, Aerosols, Accessories, and MRO categories.
Achieve or exceed annual cost saving targets through vendor negotiations, vendor consolidation and resourcing initiatives, and VA/VE activities.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes, supplier performance, and cost reduction efforts.
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of chemicals and raw materials. Assess their reliability, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
Negotiate terms and conditions, including prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms. Ensure contracts are favorable and aligned with the company's needs.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and resolve any issues that arise.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, R&D, Quality Assurance, and Logistics to understand product requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize and ensure appropriate levels of raw material inventory held on site; capitalize on vendor managed inventory programs to ensure adequate supply and minimal obsolescence exposure.
Ensure that purchased items meet required specifications and quality standards. Work with suppliers to resolve any quality issues.
Verify that all chemicals and materials comply with relevant regulations and safety standards, including environmental and health regulations. Keep records related to regulatory compliance, including safety data sheets (SDS) and certifications.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting responsible commodities; inform and alert management of potential disruptions or opportunities.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.
Support procurement for select few large customer/board events
Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Proven experience (3+ years) in Strategic Purchasing, Operational Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Material Scheduling, or similar Supply Chain related fields.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence and build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, inventory control, and procurement best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and cost modeling tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments and present complex information clearly and concisely.
