This position works closely with multiple internal cross-functional teams to guarantee accurate systematic control of goods demand, order, receipt and payment. Furthermore, this role actively represents the company to vendors through commercialization requests, product cost negotiation and the logistical coordination of ordered goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of material resource planning, procurement management systems and possess proficient communication skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): • Actively review and identify short and long-term raw material demands through the combined use of multiple ERP system and self-created reports as well as consistent physical stock review with the purpose of maintaining appropriate stock levels to support operations. • Create, execute and manage the lifespan of purchase orders for all ingredients, packaging, wares, supplies. Also conduct and control purchase order processing for services, parts and equipment as needed. • Routinely review sales and production forecasts, working closely with supply chain, inventory control and scheduling to ensure the timely and accurate flow of raw materials to support planned production and sales order fulfillment. • Collaborate with logistics to ensure all ordered goods are routed timely and cost effectively to support manufacturing operations. • Partner with finance on all item price and quantity confirmations as well as vendor-specific credits and charges. • Develop and manage business relationships with all raw material vendors and suppliers; organize and conduct on-site supplier facility visits and meetings as needed. • Direct, drive and manage vendor evaluation and performance to ensure compliance with quality assurance, corporate and cost initiatives and policies. • Implement and execute item cost control measures through contract negotiations, term conditions and alternative sourcing. • Own the systematic setup of new item numbers and bill of materials in the ERP system. • Uphold various food safety policies for SQF, HACCP, FDA and customer-driven QA management systems in relation to the procurement of goods. • Review all non-conforming item issues, trailer inspection flags and vendor quality control issues with quality assurance and communicate and enforce all credit requests to vendors. • Evaluate procurement key performance metrics monthly to inform and report on purchasing conditions to executive leadership.
