General Summary: We are seeking experienced and dependable Stand By Bus Drivers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting passengers or riding along to aid the bus driver along designated routes in a safe and timely manner. You must adhere to all traffic laws and company regulations while providing excellent customer service to our passengers.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Training and Experience:
CDL preferred, but not required, willing to train
Essential Job Functions:
Safely Transporting Students: Driving (or riding) a school bus to ensure the safe transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other activities.
Following Traffic Laws: Adhering strictly to traffic laws and school bus regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance checks on the bus to ensure it is safe and in good working condition.
Emergency Procedures: Knowing and implementing emergency procedures in case of accidents, breakdowns, or other emergencies.
Communication: Maintaining effective communication with students, parents, school staff, and transportation authorities.
Monitoring Students: Ensuring that students behave appropriately and safely while on the bus, maintaining discipline when necessary.
Route Familiarity: Being familiar with the assigned route and ensuring timely arrival and departure from stops.
Paperwork and Documentation: Completing required paperwork, such as daily logs, incident reports, and mileage records.
Training and Development: Participating in ongoing training and development programs related to driving skills, safety procedures, and student management.
