Summary: Responsible for completing all assigned duties related to all aspects of building housekeeping (inside and out) of the building(s) to which he/she is assigned.
Essential Employees: All Block Institute Employees have been deemed Essential Employees by New York State. As such, that means that if there are requirements for Essential Employees to show up to work during announced emergencies or times of crisis, all Block employees are among those mandated to do so. (Subject to any other Executive Order to the contrary.)
The scope of an Essential Employees' tasks during an emergency situation will vary from situation to situation, may include, but not be limited to: physically showing up to a designated work site as instructed, even if other businesses are closed; completion of all work where possible online, including documentation of services, evaluations, billing, etc.; attendance at Microsoft Team Meetings (or other online communication platforms) as invited; and completion of any assignments or training modules as instructed, and working remotely where possible.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Following a schedule, will sweep, mop, and wax assigned: classrooms, group rooms, hallways, offices, bathrooms, cafeteria, lounge, multipurpose rooms, vacuum all carpeted areas, etc.
Clean on a regular basis all doors, door handles, railings, fixtures, garbage cans (wash out weekly), interior/exterior windows, vents, pictures, drinking fountains.
Clean all bathrooms: wash toilets/urinals, sinks, stall walls and doors, tiles (behind toilets, on floor around toilets), wipe down all dispensers and holders.
Maintain dumpsters and empty all garbage cans and waste baskets in all rooms/areas, respecting recycling laws.
Locker room: Wipe down and disinfect shower area and lockers.
Ensure all rooms are stocked with essentials, i.e. paper towels, toilet paper, soap, deodorizers, garbage bags, etc.
Maintain the outside perimeters of the building through sweeping, raking, loose garbage pick-up, shoveling sidewalks and pathways in winter, etc.
Report any safety issues to your supervisor (cordon off the area if necessary, until repair is completed).
Maintain dry floors inside building (remember to place caution signs where floors are wet)
Basic/light repair work as directed and supervised by the maintenance supervisor.
Rearrange or relocate furniture as needed to accommodate various needs or activities
Attend in-service training and attend scheduled meetings with the Facilities Supervisor and/or Manager.
Interact appropriately and follow all regulatory items concerning the individuals we serve.
Must work to keep the environment of the individuals we serve clean and attractive.
Mandatory attendance at required in service training, along with ability to absorb and demonstrate compliance with all regulations and Block Institute policy and procedure requirements is required for this position.
Attendance/Punctuality: is consistently at work and on time. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: A Facilities Maintenance Technician must be able to perform all essential functions of the position consistently and successfully. Perform regular Maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repairs, light fixture repairs, plumping repairs, repairs to the building or its contents on all Summit Properties.
Responsible for the completion of work orders regarding request for repair.
Inspect classrooms, offices, hallways and exterior of all Summit Buildings to determine if repairs or preventive maintenance is needed.
Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of classrooms and other areas of the agency's property, including traveling to other locations.
Inspect classroom areas to determine if custodial work is properly done.
Respond to requests for supplies, cleanups, and garbage removal.
Assist in the moving of office and institutional furniture and equipment.
Perform regular maintenance tasks such as painting, small repairs.
Responsible for grounds maintenance tasks, to include: early start snow removal, playground cleanup, and light seasonal landscaping to maintain clean walk ways and parking lots.
Assist with training new employees in maintenance and custodial duties.
Must have flexible schedule to accommodate any needs and shifts in agency operating hours and be able to fill-in when other staff members are absent. Must be available a minimum of 1 (one) Saturday per month and be able to respond to emergency situations.

The Administrative Coordinator for the Director of Operations is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the administrative functions for those Programs and Departments that fall under the direct oversight of the Director of Operations. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide technical support and training in the use of Paycom and Therap across Agency Departments.
Assist in project management within the scope of the Director of Operations oversight areas. This may include assistance with the implementation of policies and procedures, training and onboarding, and the use of electronic systems and software platforms for improved business efficiency.
Conduct ongoing analysis of established systems involved in ensuring Agency policies and regulations are followed; with an eye towards always looking to create more and/or better efficiencies.
Conduct forensic and statistical analysis of established reports in order to identify and assess trends based on the data and report such identified issues with the Director of Operations.
Conduct and submit completed investigations in compliance with Agency and external policies. These investigations may include Allegations of Abuse, and other investigations into Program-related issues as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Attend Program and Department meetings regularly to gather information to assist the Director of Operations in the development of Agency practices to comply with best practices.
Assist in the development of training curriculums.
Assist as a facilitator of New Employee Orientation and Agency Training as required.
Gather and organize information in preparation for meetings held by the Director of Operations
Assist in the understanding and maintenance of reports used to track identified areas of ongoing concern via systems used by Adult Services Programs
Schedule appointments and relay general business information to callers regarding areas involving the Director of Operations.
Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Compose routine reports, memos, responses to usual correspondence, and upkeep of general office functions.
Demonstrate appropriate interactions when dealing with employees, those receiving services from Block Institute, families, regulators, visitors, and anyone who has business with Block Institute Programs and Departments.
Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Mandatory attendance at required in-service training, along with ability to absorb and demonstrate compliance with all regulations and Block Institute policy and procedure requirements is required for this position.

The Program Supervisor ensures that all Adult Day Service Programs are appropriately supervised and run at maximum efficiency and maintain regulatory compliance and provides quality services for all Individuals receiving services in the Program.
This is a Mid-Level Management position.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Assists in the planning, creating, training in and supervising of the activities/goals/outcomes/services provided in Adult Day Services Group Rooms.
Observes and analyzes the individualized needs of the people in Adult Day Services.
Coordinate the creation of methodologies, goals/outcomes, services to enhance skills, through the Team process.
Helps develop individual plans, and thereafter develop annual (or as frequently as necessary) evaluations of the individuals' progress and needs.
Responsible for supervising group leaders in the formulation and implementation of individual service plans, and the planning and conducting of meetings involving the individuals on their list of responsibilities.
Maintain contact with families, correspondents, state agencies or other entities entitled to be involved in the life of the individual.
Instruct and supervises staff in carrying out the programs as written.
Review monthly data sheets and daily attendance records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory and billing standards.
Demonstrate appropriate interactions between co-workers and Individual in accordance with OPWDD regulations and Block Institute policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
HS/GED required plus 3 years' experience or AA degree with 1 year of experience
BA/BS Degree required for the highest salary scale
1 year experience working with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities
1 Year of Supervisory Experience

Position: Individualized Support Specialist Supervisor (ISS Supervisor) - Residential Services
Summary: Block Institute is seeking a dedicated and experienced Individualized Support Specialist Supervisor (ISS Supervisor) to join our Residential Services team. The ISS Supervisor will oversee the Individualized Support Specialists (ISS), ensuring the development and implementation of person-centered Residential Habilitation Plans and services. This role involves training, advising, and supervising ISS staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with the Residential Managerial team and clinicians.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the provision of active treatment and residential habilitation services in DD residential programs.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, consistent with person-centered planning.
Ensure services are delivered in a manner appropriate to individual needs, including cultural and religious preferences, strengths, and unique interests.
Ensure programmatic compliance with all pertinent city, state, and federal regulations, including OPWDD standards.
Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training residential ISS staff in conjunction with Program Coordinators and management.
Conduct bi-monthly meetings with ISS staff for updates, coordination, and training.
Provide individual technical assistance and training to ISS staff.
Coordinate execution of ISS tasks during temporary vacancies, including essential job tasks and team participation.
Provide residential management staff with training, strategy consultation, and guidance.
Develop oversight strategies for residential teams to ensure service delivery.
Ensure ISS participation in person-centered planning and Life Plan development.
Collaborate regularly with the Total Quality Management Department regarding standards and practices.
Liaise with the Finance department on billing compliance issues.
Liaise with outside provider agencies to resolve documentation discrepancies.
Provide feedback to the Director and Assistant Director of Programs on habilitation services quality.
Coordinate cluster schedule with Program Coordinators and maintain a flexible schedule for critical or emergency needs.
