This position will be responsible for applying coatings using conventional, airless spray systems, brush and roll techniques. In addition, you will operate various types of equipment such as blast pots and spraying equipment and performing duties at heights required.
Responsibilities
Apply paint using brush and roll, conventional, airless, and plural systems
Have knowledge of various painting methods and applications, including mixing paints to desired colors and consistencies
Spray coatings with consistent millage
Operate blasting pot in case of hose burst, gasket failure, switch malfunction, or other problems
Perform painting, caulking, and sealing tasks

This position involves being outside in all weather conditions, lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds of product and other materials as needed, and frequently requires squatting and bending.
As a new employee, you will complete a 24-hour or 8-hour MSHA Part-48 training course with one of our instructors, be given Hazmat training, and a road test. You will often complete a 10-hour OSHA course and be trained on various State requirements. We want you to know how we operate.
Your normal day will start off by arriving at each job site ready to get to work. In some cases, you will go directly to the job, in others you may need to drive a truck to the site. Once on the job you will evaluate the area for safety concerns, read the drill log, measure holes, ensure products are laid out and communicate with the site management and your blast crew to keep everyone informed.
You and your crew will load the holes as designed and detonate the shot. Once you fire the shot you will complete a post blast audit and complete your paperwork.
As the Blaster in Charge, we expect you to be in charge. So, work with the customer to ensure both their and our needs are met but remember, safety is always a priority.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
Physical ability to lift, up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis.
Valid Blaster license for the State operating in.
Valid Class-A or Class-B CDL license and clean driving record is highly preferred and required at some locations.
Hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements are highly preferred and required at some locations, (we can help you get there). Endorsements must be obtained within 90-days of employment.
Your CDL should allow you to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
Must meet requirements of all State and Federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A BLASTER
As a Blaster, you arrive at each job site ready to get to work. You start by conducting field tests to determine the type and quantity of explosives needed for the job. With attention to detail, you read and interpret drill patterns, instructions, and diagrams. You effectively communicate this information with all personnel on the job site to keep everyone informed and prepared to complete their duties. Acuren is currently seeking Coaters/Blasters/Painters for upcoming work in the East Region. THIS WILL BE A TRAVEL POSITION. This position will be responsible for applying coatings using conventional, airless spray systems, brush and roll techniques. In addition, you will operate various types of equipment such as blast pots and spraying equipment and performing duties at heights required.
Responsibilities
* Apply paint using brush and roll, conventional, airless, and plural systems
* Have knowledge of various painting methods and applications, including mixing paints to desired colors and consistencies
* Spray coatings with consistent millage
* Operate blasting pot in case of hose burst, gasket failure, switch malfunction, or other problems
* Perform painting, caulking, and sealing tasks
* Inspect surfaces and ensure compliance with safety regulations
* Demonstrate safe usage of hand tools and power tools appropriate for the job
* Identify and handle various materials used in the craft
* Interpret paint specifications and ensure compliance
* Demonstrate knowledge and skills in various methods of surface preparation according to Nace Standards
* Identify equipment problems and perform cleaning, repairs, and reassembly as required
* Read specifications and instructions to determine work requirements NACE|CIP (Coating Insp) or NACE|General Coatings certification would be an asset
* Perform required blasting and coating duties at heights.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A BLASTER
As a Blaster, you arrive at each job site ready to get to work. You start by conducting field tests to determine the type and quantity of explosives needed for the job. With attention to detail, you read and interpret drill patterns, instructions, and diagrams. You effectively communicate this information with all personnel on the job site to keep everyone informed and prepared to complete their duties. You arrange and detonate shots and conduct both pre- and post-shot safety audits for every shot service event. Your organizational skills assist you in completing all the necessary paperwork.
For each job, you comply with our customers' policies/procedures and ensure that your shot crew does the same. With the appropriate personnel, you coordinate the handling of client issues, blast area incidents, and/or public concerns.
