All BTs and RBTs undergo hands-on training with ongoing clinical support from their Clinical Supervisor (BCBA), to prepare for a career providing life-changing Applied Behavior Analysis therapy to children with Autism in home-based and center-based settings. Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Follow the behavior intervention plans designed by the BCBA/BCaBA to address specific behavioral goals and objectives for each client. Direct Client Care: Provide one-on-one therapy to clients in various settings, such as homes, schools, clinics, or community settings. Data Collection: Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors and responses during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Progress Monitoring: Collaborate with the supervising BCBA/BCaBA to track and report client progress towards behavioral goals and make necessary adjustments to the intervention plan when required. Behavior Reduction Techniques: Utilize approved behavior reduction techniques and strategies as outlined in the behavior intervention plan to address challenging behaviors. Skill Acquisition: Assist clients in acquiring and developing functional skills, communication abilities, and appropriate social behaviors. Parent/Caregiver Training: Provide training and support to parents/caregivers on implementing behavior intervention techniques and strategies in the home environment. Professionalism: Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in behavior analysis while maintaining client confidentiality. Documentation: Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and session notes in a timely manner. Communication: Maintain open communication with the BCBA/BCaBA, parents/caregivers, and other team members involved in the client's treatment. Qualifications About you: What Makes You a Great Candidate Early education, special education, childcare, or personal experience Passion for working with children and helping others High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field is a plus Reliable transportation, driver's license, insurance, and smartphone Strong written and verbal communication skills Fluent in both English and Spanish Excellent time management and interpersonal skills A positive attitude and willingness to take direction from senior staff members Work environment Must be able to travel to our InBloom Center for duration of internship Noise Level is moderate to loud Physical demands Physical capacity to move quickly and respond to potentially aggressive behavior and de-escalate situations with clients. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, running and/or sitting in order to interact with clients. Must be able to move and lift up to 50 pounds to assist with client positioning or mobility. Adequate vision and hearing are needed to work with clients and staff.
