    Primary Purpose: To consult with and provide training to school personnel on educational programming and behavioral interventions for students with emotional disturbance/AU and moderate to severe behavior problems. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Model effective teaching strategies with specific Special Education students with emotional disturbance/AU and moderate to severe behavior problems as specified in individual IEP's. * Assist teachers in programming for students with emotional disturbance and moderate to severe behavior problems. * Assist teachers responsible for educating students with emotional disturbance and moderate to severe behavior problems in the understanding of effective behavioral classroom/teaching strategies. * Assist in the development of instructional activities, curriculum planning/writing, and staff training. * Conduct informal evaluations of students for the purpose of assisting campus level staff to provide effective behavior interventions. * Attend staffing and ARDs when appropriate to assist with the development, evaluation and placement of students who qualify for Powell Point Program. * Assist in the transition of new students to Powell Point Program by providing teachers in-class support, joint planning, and problem solving. * Assist teachers and parents in data collection techniques for the purpose of evaluating student progress. * Promote the inclusion of students with emotional disturbance and moderate to severe behavior problems by working with campuses during transitioning back to a general education campus. * Assist in the ordering of a standard list of materials for new and established classes. * Assist in the selection and ordering of instructional materials and in determining appropriate strategies for using these materials in the classroom. * Provide on-going technical assistance in programming and evaluating Behavior classrooms. * Assist counselor in the development and implementation of individual Behavior Intervention Plan. * Provide specific technical assistance and staff development for teachers in Behavior classrooms. * Meet with Security as necessary * Coordinate with Behavior personnel in planning and programming for all students at Powell Point Program. * Coordinate and provide district/campus training for Texas Behavior Support Initiative (TBSI) Training. * Attendance at work is an essential function. * Other duties as assigned.
