The BCBA is responsible for:
Clinical Practice
Assessing, supervising, and evaluating learners by administering; ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, PEAK, Vineland, AFLS, Essential for Living or other Functional Behavior Assessments
Creating and supervising the implementation of individualized goals and objectives for center-based, community, in-home, and telehealth programs.
Creating individualized behavior intervention plans, monitoring implementation and providing feedback as necessary. The Behavior Analyst will provide direct behavior analytic therapy as needed.
Conducting parent trainings as clinically appropriate for the learner.
Supervision
Capturing and contriving opportunities to teach staff and learners in the natural environment and trains others to do the same.
Participating in parent meetings, treatment meetings, stakeholder meetings, trainings and other meetings as needed.
Supporting initial training alongside the training team, assisting with ongoing training with a focus on retaining and supporting behavior technicians.

A Registered Behavior Technician, under general supervision and working in a variety of Community Mental Health, local community, and family home settings, provides one on one services related to the delivery of comprehensive or focused behavior intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurological disorders, or other developmental disabilities. An employee in this class performs a variety of paraprofessional level work activities requiring a general working knowledge of the mental health field and behavior analysis. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position that works on average 40 or more hours a week. Hours over 40 may be required intermittently. This position is expected to be on site, in the community or at participant's homes as needed. Hours and days vary and may include evenings and weekends. Summary:
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will be responsible for completing behavioral skills assessments and functional behavior assessments of challenging behaviors among children and young adults served through the ABA program through the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) guidelines, but is also available for consultation for all populations served by Pioneer Resources including children and adults with developmental disabilities, children with severe emotional disturbance, and adults with severe mental illness. An employee in this classification will develop clear, effective, and prescriptive skill and behavior plans based on the function of behavior. An ABA Program BCBA provides ongoing data review and analysis of behavioral support plans and relevant mental health factors and teaches persons responsible for implementing those plans how to do so and provides information relevant to person's diagnosis and other factors that need to be considered in providing adequate support and performs other work-related duties as required. The ABA Program BCBA will assist with oversight and training of behavior plans to Behavior Analyst Technicians (BATs) and provide supervision to Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) within the program.
Essential Functions:
Essential functions of this position include:
Provide clinical supervision and guidance to all clinical staff, including BCaBAs and Behavior Analysis Technicians (BATs), ensuring alignment with BACB standards.
Collaborate with the ABA Manager and clinical leadership team to guide best practices and enhance program operations.
Represent the ABA Center in outreach and advocacy efforts as assigned.
Manage a caseload of individuals with autism in center-based, in-home, or community settings.
Conduct skill assessments using validated tools such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, and AFLS.
Perform functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to analyze and address challenging behaviors.
Develop and oversee implementation of behavior intervention and skill acquisition plans, using evidence-based ABA strategies such as discrete trial teaching (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), and verbal behavior methods.
Analyze behavioral data and intervention effectiveness, providing training and coaching to ABA staff.
Maintain regular communication with families and staff, addressing concerns and ensuring quality service delivery.
Support program development and enhancement to better serve individuals with autism and their families.
Provide relevant information and guidance on diagnoses and other key factors impacting service provision.
Develop and deliver staff training on behavior management, ABA methodologies, and professional development.
Coordinate and oversee behavior management protocols, ensuring they align with individual behavior intervention plans.
Conduct assessments and reassessments every six months, ensuring data-driven adjustments to intervention plans.
Monitor implementation and effectiveness of behavior intervention plans, ensuring proper data collection and adherence.
Provide direct support and consultation to technicians, ensuring adherence to ABA methodologies.
Meet with technicians and families to review progress and provide evidence-based interventions.
Assist with the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as needed.
Ensure proper clinical supervision of BCaBAs and BATs, in accordance with BACB requirements.
Collaborate with the ABA leadership team to manage scheduling, staffing, and program logistics.
Ensure adequate coverage for absences, coordinating staffing for sick leave and vacation.
Communicate effectively with leadership, client families, and staff regarding operational changes and updates.

Education/Talent Requirements:
Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB); AND

Work Environment:
This position works in close proximity to people. Moderate noise to be expected while working with participants. While the majority of working time is spent indoors at the center, in participant's homes or community, employees in this position may work outdoors in all seasons for short periods of time, e.g. assisting participants into a vehicle, taking a participant on an outing, snow removal, etc.

Requirements
Lifting/Carrying more than 50 lbs. Able to sustain impact to body (i.e., being hit, etc.) in any area. Running, crouching, squatting, and ability to kneel for sustained periods of time. Responsible for working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and mental health disorders in a 1:1 setting following ABA methods and procedures and to facilitate peer interactions when appropriate. This can include, but is not limited to:
Responsibilities
Organize and maintain instructional area throughout the session and at the conclusion of the session
Prepare and keep binder, stimuli, and needed materials accessible and organized
Dress appropriately and arrive on time for work with ample time to prepare for session
Complete all tasks assigned that are associated with the completion of a session
Receive 1:1 and group supervision from supervisors through direct observation
Attend team meetings and scheduled trainings
Communicate self in a professional and positive manner with coworkers and parents
Respond to all internal communication (e-mail, phone call, etc.) within 24 hours
Practice universal precaution to protect against the transmission of communicable diseases
Maintain appropriate level of communication with parents about all aspects of therapy
Deliver instruction following procedures learned from initial and ongoing training sessions and based on feedback given from supervisory staff
Collect, record, and analyze data accurately following Gateway Pediatric Therapy's procedures
Respond to client's behavior following procedures learned from initial and ongoing training session and based on feedback given by supervisory staff
Complete necessary training and demonstrate accurate implementation and reporting on client specific plans, such as behavior plans and client-specific emergency procedures as outlined within internal documentation and/or the IPOS/behavioral plan of care
Perform and maintain certification in basic first aid procedures
Complete and submit all progress notes by the completion of the scheduled therapy session
Identify when interventions are needed for specific clients and programs and communicate in a timely manner to monitoring BCBA or supervisor
Implement Crisis Prevention Institute procedures as required when presented with maladaptive or undesired behaviors
Reports directly to the monitoring BCBA for client needs and implementation of programs. Reports directly to Clinical Managers for administrative needs or issues
Maintain client privacy in accordance with all HIPAA regulations and with Gateway policies and procedures manual
Qualifications
Must be able to communicate expressively and receptively both verbally and in writing
Must be able to sit in a child size chair or on the floor; switch from standing to sitting quickly; walk, jog, or run quickly in the event of client elopement; assume and maintain a variety of postures including but not limited to, standing, sitting, kneeling, or squatting
